Petition submitted to PM to have Thaksin returned to prison

A political network filed a petition with the prime minister on Wednesday, calling for convicted Thaksin Shinawatra to be returned to prison from the hospital where he has been since the night of his first day of incarceration.

 

Pichit Chaimongkol, leader of the Network of Students and People for Reform of Thailand said that Thaksin, who claimed to be gravely ill, has been in hospital for 23 days already.

 

“We and many Thai people do not believe that Thaksin was or is genuinely sick. The illness is just an excuse for him to stay outside the prison, where he should have stayed. We demand that he is returned to prison immediately,” Pichit said.

Can anyone remind me how many seats, and what proportion of the popular vote Pichit Chaimongkol, and his "Network of Students and People for Reform of Thailand" got in the recent election?

The prison hospital has been good for 1000's of other prisoners in the past so it's good enough for him, a guy I knew of who spent time was handcuffed to the bed,

So the mere fact that you, Pichit, do not believe the doctors statements about Thaksin's health, when in truth you know absolutely zero about his condition and seriousness of it, entitles you to campaign to have him put in an unsafe prison environment should he actually be ill. Hatred for Thaksin has nothing to do with it, but hatred for the blatant double standards being exhibited by the establishment and the utter contempt they hold their people in yeah I really hate that!

He made a reservation at the luxury suite in a hospital he prepaid it. He had a sentence reduced from eight years to one year is only spent about a month in the luxury suite in the hospital. What’s the odds that he could spend another 11 months there or wait till December and get a full pardon. I’m thinking he’ll stay there till he gets his part in in December then after he leaves the hospital he will have a 100% recovery from his illness TIT.

Where do I sign this petition I'd like to see him locked up where he belongs,, the Thai people voted for the person they wanted to run their country and that was stolen from them now this criminal returns to be given VVIP treatment because he is rich,, when is red bull boy returning let get the parade ready for him too,, this is BS,,lock him up for 8 years he ran from the law he is guilty.

Now Taksin is back and they want to lock him up. Strange sequence of events.

Imagine they release him early from prison, because he is extreme sick.

And after he is released, then a few days hours later Thaksin will be in the limelight in front of reporters talking a lot - no signs of any bad health.

Why do people make excuses for a convicted criminal who in his tenure as PM sent many people to jail and  endorsed a mandate for violence.

It is the same in every country in the world including your home country, if you are so adamantly against it set up a world wide website and campaign against it, I am sure you will win at least one vote, your own !

What has any of what you wrote got to do with wanting Thaksin to serve his prison sentence in prison instead of a VIP suite?

 

As for him saying, “We and many Thai people do not believe that Thaksin was or is genuinely sick," I think he might be right.

No it is not. A member of the House Of Lords was jailed in the UK, and spent his time in a prison cell. Quite a number of other highly-placed people in the UK have also served jail rather than hospital time.
