Two drivers were killed and two passengers seriously injured when a tour bus ran off Highway 331 and crashed into a street barrier near Pattaya on Thursday morning, September 28th.

The accident occurred at 10:16 AM near kilometer marker 10+400 inbound to Sattahip district within Huay Yai sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province.

The bus operated by Chan Tour Company was transporting an unclear number of passengers when it suddenly veered off the highway and plowed into a concrete barrier by the roadside, witnesses said.

According to Pol Lt Col Prakasit Phradet, an investigator from the Huay Yai Police Station, the exact cause of the accident remained unclear; however, he suspected that the driver might have fallen asleep at the wheel due to fatigue from driving a long distance.

Very likely.

No break failure this time.

Where is the news ? It's everyday..

Wonder how many buses they get through in a year in this bus graveyard ????

Another triumph for Pattaya Plod.  IF they ever worked and deterred speedsters and red light runners then Chonburi might become a safer place to visit.

What has that got to do with this report? Where did you read the police were at fault and this bus was speeding and running a red light? What I read is that they suspect the driver fell asleep while driving, as numerous Thais tend to do.

So, what is the source that you based your alternative reality statement on, please? If there isn't one, why did you write something that had nothing to do with this report?

10AM. bit early for a sleep altho where do these driver/drivers spend the night?  Most I see parked up seem to live in the luggage bins.!

Thailand really should have TAT instigate a " Sight and Sounds of Thailand " promotion

That of course would be all the Emergency Vehicles flying about

This is the  2nd recent report of a bus driver falling asleep through "Fatigue" when a second driver was aboard, why are they not getting proper sleep breaks, surely they don't drive the passengers 24hrs a day.

Behind the steering wheel.

Chan Tours operates as far as Nakhon Phanom.

That's about 865 km (537 miles).

More than 13:30 hours on an overland bus is my estimation.

Route "827" is Nakhon Phanom to Rayong.

If they go through Pattaya it adds more mileage.

So going on road 331 makes perfect sense.

Maybe up to 15 hour trip.

I doubt Singapore Airlines are too happy about having their logo plastered all over these homemade Thai buses.
