Just stumbled on this. Taking Doxycycline after condomless sex drastically reduces the risk of catching certain STIs. I'll be kicking it off in future.

What the moronic UCSF professor's research fails to address is the well known effect that the indiscriminate use of antibiotics has on bacteria - Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria. 

By promoting the prophylaxis use of Doxycycline, the UCSF researchers are setting up the sexually promiscuous segment of society (and the rest of humanity for that matter) with a future with pathogens that no longer can be killed with standard antibiotics. 

Here's a better idea that doesn't threaten the entirety of humanity:  Wear Condoms!

Out of interest you use dick pills? most men need dick pills and one major reason is condoms desensitizes the whole experience

not a very sensible approach .... kinda sets up an excuse for risky behavior which is downright dangerous.

Doxycycline is good to keep around, I always keep a strip of tabs, even on short one or two day trips. It’s also good prophylactic for dengue fever.

Seriously, as others have pointed out , the misuse of anti biotics is not a wise road to travel. Their laissez-faire  use has led to the situation  that we have today , STD's that are resistant to treatment.  

 

Wrap up or get a steady partner who isn't sleeping around or one day you may be unfortunate enough to catch something  nasty that you can't  get rid of.

It should be understood thatthis research was conducting in the US and relates to antibiotic sensitivities in STIs in the US which can, and often do, differ in Thailand.

Doxocyclin not a good proposition if you stay out in the sun for long, like you would in Thailand.

What about a hottie that digs you and loves sex?  Hard to beat this trifecta with a random 1 nighter.  Had this few times in my life.  One dumped me eventually, one was bat sht crazy which became frightening, and I'm now, three years running, with the last  I hope.  Your mostly right though...

You still sunbath? most people stopped doing that a long time ago. Keep to the shade and don't spend too long in the sun, definitely cover up

PrEP on demand dosing can be useful if someone might have sex certain nights of the week like Fridays and Saturdays etc
