This current Generation is apparently called Gen Z

 

The question is ,is my assumption they're lazy right?

 

I notice in my workplace that Gen Z always refuse any extra overtime shifts,it's always the old guys doing it ,secondly they seem to hate working weekends.

 

The phone and taking selfies ,even as a hospital cleaner I saw a Gen Z taking a selfie of the floors he mopped , he told me he was putting it on Instagram.

 

This all confirmed when I just read on another forum that bar girls in Soi 6 Pattaya ( Gen Z) were refusing customers,one wrote ," these generation of bar girls are not that interested in making money like the past generations" 

 

Is this true ,are they not interested in buying houses , working hard for the future like their grandparents?

They just hate the concept of work. Been given everything and treated like a baby by the family so when they get a job they cant handle having to work all the time without having a latte or a rest.

They seem to consider that a full days work is around 2 hours per day.

There's so much less incentive for them to try. What do you get for being the best counter person at 7/11?

 

Also: At their age, I was a hippie, hoping to make a living as a Zen poet.

 

So I'll leave the stern judgement to imperious hospital building services professionals.

They are for sure different. Growing up with smart phones and social media has consequences.

I wouldnt call that being lazy. Just that they dont want the extra money and want to chill out during the weekends.

Maybe they are clever enough to recognise that them working harder is only good for the profit-takers (the bosses and shareholders) and does little for their quality of life.........maybe not so much lazy as smart.

The general concept is life is a bit more about experiences than a stable boring life. If you think how hard it is for the young to buy a house in western countries you can see why some might take a different path.

 

Working from home was a revelation for me and for many in the workplace and showed that being productive didn't have to mean the boring tedious politeness of long commutes and sitting under fluorescent lights 5 days a week. So staff look at other ways to make work suck less but still doing the job.

Overtime...up to them..why exhaust yourself for some crappy company. I work for the government so at least see some good coming from what I do ... don't laugh. 

But in fact most young I see aren't different ...  fairly hard working ..some still super ambitious .. some not .. 

 

I think those slatternly Pattaya harlots are finding better prospects on their phone then what's sitting in front of them at the bar.

 

I have to believe that those glorious days when a hot-looking woman would play a game of Jenga with me in a bar, just on speculation, are gone and never to return.

 

Who, who can I blame for this?

Spoiled is the word I would use to describe Gen Z.

Just worry about what is going to happen once they reach retirement age. I have know many boomers saying: I'll pay off my house and save a bit so the state pension will  be enough. 30 years later, after a divorce they were left with their meager pension and went to Thighland. Zeers won't have that choice.

They will own nothing, and they will be happy.

So does anyone notice this with the Thai Gen Z?

Seems like they are smart enough to understand that, as things seem to be heading, there ain't no pension panacea at the end of their career gigs.

Gen Z are a self entitled generation growing up watching tiktok and influencers travelling the globe taking selfies in gym mirrors.

 

They get depressed when they find out they have to go and do work , there are bills to be paid , 

And the best part , they actually have no social interaction skills with customers, all there friends are on Facebook 

 

They're young and can get laid for free.

 

So success-wise, they've already run over you like a tank.

Perhaps because that's what's on offer in the job market?

 

Even the most progressive dotcoms seem to be snapping to the fact that they're just not getting the productivity out of their remote workers and are increasing the hours they actually have to bathe, dress and show up at the office.

Of course, if their looks are good enough for OnlyFans, that's an option. But that come with its own price.

Working with many Gen Z

 

Gen Z would regard that statement as being sexually suggestive, they don't like guys perving at girls especially guys double or triple  their age , everyone must be the same ,no gender , no labels and certainly no getting laid ,( without signed permission )

 

Gen Z look down on older guys going to Asia , won't let you know what they call them

I would rather have my million dollars in my superannuation knowing I can be free anytime , I can walk out of my job anytime , the Gen Z can't with debts 

 

That's the benefit of being old , knowing you have passed that caring stage,
