But they cost 3x as much so I don't buy them that often. Cheers Weizen is a pretty decent alternative. I don't think I have tried the Cheers one yet, will give it a try. 1

Judging by the price and the crap bottle/label not expecting too much. Don't exactly look premium does it? 1

They also do a passion fruit one which I once picked up by mistake. Even that wasn't bad if you like sweet Weizen. Probably one for the ladies though. 1

Going to grab a few different beers tomorrow, need my popcorn and beer, going to watch the "Equalizer 3" and maybe the new "Mission Impossible" movie on Amazon Prime this weekend. 1 1

In their former joint venture, Carlsberg took the venture while the partner took the joint. Goodbye Carlsberg, hello Chang. 🥹 Carlsberg Elephant beer in Denmark used to be 8% and a beautiful taste. Chang does not quite compare, but is OK. Hope these new ones get to my neck of the woods soon. Tapper is OK at 6.5%. 1

I'll be buying a few of each style (maybe not the fruit flavour) for a taste test, as soon as I find them. Any effort to improve the choice of local beers should be supported. 2 1
alien365 Posted November 9, 2023 Posted November 9, 2023 I bought the lager and the dunkel yesterday as I was getting my Heineken zeros. At 60 baht each it shouldn't put the locals off. I'll try them when I'm off the wagon again.

Its quite a general statement that Thais drink to get drunk and I would say that is false. If Thais are drinking to get drunk they drink Lao Khow... 3 1

These include Lager Beer, a German-style beer made from 100% malt; Dunkel Beer, a German-style dark beer made from roasted malt; Weizen Beer, a genuine Bavarian-style beer with a fruity aroma; Rose Beer, a genuine Bavarian-style beer mixed with raspberry; and IPA Beer, an ale with the taste and aroma of hops. Would be a refreshing change form the rubbish forced on us by the monopoly. 3 1

Unfortunately, the advertising ban stopped them from getting into the public consciousness, and as you say the 79 baht price was likely too high for the folks looking for the cheapest possible buzz.
