You really are a man-child, stop clutching your pearls, wearing a mask isn't the end of the world and I guess I give a f@ck about people whose immune systems are compromised. You are so busy stamping your little feet that you don't even understand basic science.

No one has EVER on here said those at risk should not consult with a doctor and take appropriate measures to try and protect their health. You're comment is puerile.

...What exactly does getting a respiratory virus have to do with wearing masks?

Nothing at all, unless the mask is worn to cover the orifices through which air is inhaled into the lungs; and wearing a mask is not about getting a respiratory virus, but about reducing the risk of getting it.

Only the sick should be wearing masks, and if they have covid they should isolate. It's realy that simple

Yet they carry-on.

Going out and about, 7-11, local markets etc spreading it further.

Next door the daughter came home from school about a two weeks ago, hacking cough, headaches and phlegm.

Last week mother was the same, now grandmother has started, all three hacking coughs all day long.

Just saying...

I am in the UK and there a growing concern about the "100-day cough" formerly known as Whooping cough.

Not a lot of social distancing over here and no masks either.

A respiratory expert issues a warning as Covid-19 cases soar, surpassing even the flu.

Renowned respiratory specialist, Dr Manoon Leechawengwongs, dropped a bombshell on social media, sounding the alarm on the escalating Covid crisis. Hailing from Vichaiyut Hospital in Bangkok, he disclosed a staggering 545 cases in November alone, divulging the unsettling statistics in a Facebook post yesterday, December 7.

November’s chilling report not only exposes the ominous rise in Covid but paints a gloomy picture of respiratory health overall. Dr Manoon’s findings reveal a grim tapestry of afflictions:

Covid-19: 545 cases
Influenza: 304 cases
Human Metapneumovirus (hMPV): 33 cases
Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV): 17 cases
Dengue Fever: 46 cases
Chikungunya: 4 cases
Norovirus: 13 cases

Dr Manoon, the voice of reason amid the storm, underscores the relentless ascent of coronavirus, surpassing the notorious flu. In a gripping statement, he warns:

“We are witnessing a steady surge, and the battle against Covid-19 has already taken precedence over influenza.”

That is only from one hospital. but the news is also only focusing on these numbers in their stories. What happened to the statistics from the other 1000 hospitals? the city, the country?

Buddha forbid the actual numbers ever get released making Thailand look bad.

Either way, Covid has become less than the flu in symptoms now. So why make such a big deal out of it.

Not a lot of social distancing over here and no masks either.

Did notice a week or so ago all the staff in my local 7-11's have started to wear masks again.

Not a very smart comment to make, maybe wearing masks  is your thing but don't think for a moment that the world is clean of Covid, far from it, i went through the 2-3 year of the Covid period without a hitch but got a very bad one 2 months ago spending 2 weeks in hospital, so there...

Recovering just in time to get sick from the airborne pollution we get this season!

I had better be wearing 2 masks!

Other than the fact that that is not the argument I made, you see wearing masks around people cos some in our communities are immune compromised is the argument I made. Come back when you get reading comprehension down
