Homosexual TV shows, movies

I just don't get it.  When I was younger, there was never any type of gay sex or even kissing on TV, movies.

Now, it seems that almost every show has gay scenes, and I'm worried about the impact it has on youngsters.

It really seems like TV, movies make it look like it's perfectly normal, and I don't believe that it is!

I mean if everyone was gay, there would be no next generation of humans, right?

You're right, this kind of thing is definitely affecting the minds of the youth and probably not in a good way. The PC brigade have their fingers firmly on the button, make no mistake about that!

If you want to be GAY then be GAY. But can you just do it behind closed doors like the rest of us!

thanks,

bob.

On a serious note, it's good that we see this, for too long it has been illegal and resulted in prison or suicide, society has a lot of catching up to do and I think seeing this is a good thing.  We need to break down the barriers from people who prejudicially find it distasteful and if that means it's in our face for a while, that's a very good thing.

I agree they are not gay enough.  Just one scene?

Thailand has several gay boy series running on different channels.  Some are playing school teens if I remember .....

It's up to you whether you choose to watch it or not.   It's no big deal.

If it's not your thing then just ignore it.

Don't really understand why the OP is concerned,  just watch something else.

it seems the representation pendulum has swung the other way so to speak.

What's not normal ...

... gay people existing ?

... gay people having sex ?

... gay people kissing ?

I know a few gay folks, and they all seem normal to me.   What ever normal is ?  Act and relate to each other the same as non gays.

Suggestion ... change the channel.

MiL (living with us) loves to watch them and scoff.

Too funny.

More annoying is the very unrealistic diversity casting where the best friend has to be black, the cop is implausibly Chinese, and the doctor has to be an Indian. Netflix does this a lot.

Gay-interest films seldom tempt me. I respect them as people, but their lives are not that compelling to me.

Black people are in a similar category. I might watch a historical drama, but say, a Black-oriented comedy where large women call each other Girlfrien'  a lot is a must to avoid.

Always interesting to see people who think of themselves as upstanding members of our open, democratic & free societies but are quite unwilling to accept minority groups asserting their right to the same privileges.

I noticed all your posts seem to be similar, asking why someone is being concerned with being concerned?

Another poster made a post about his favourite tv shows ,your response was why are you concerned

Why are you concerned with that their concerned about to tell them not to be concerned but to get concerned with another concern

Got me buggered , I mean most people wouldn't write posts like that in response to say why are you concerned about being concerned about their concerns?

I just can't understand the point of your posts ,unless you are looking for something exciting and it's not so you write back to the poster asking  why are you concerned, maybe they are , how would you know their not concerned, why would you even be concerned enough yourself to tell them, I'm buggered to know

I had to block you mate,I'm sorry but so annoying every post you wrote was the same negative response.

I guess you have to draw a line or boundary on what minority groups.

I'm giving you an example of the uproar when transgender people went to read library books to children.

Personally I think it was great but others said it's not on and started attacking these people outside the library

I see a future where you have to show you conform to all social agendas. There will be Social/Cyber Police evaluating the emojis you posted, your voting rights will depend on your social awareness and behavior, and your taxes will go up for each perceived faux pas.

You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile.

There is always channel switching, or turning off the TV and listening to Elgar for bringing back that manly feeling

Some comments here defending normalising what's outside mainstream human behaviour under the romantic "One Love" notion etc. If you put it differently in the no-frills terms, they are promoting "two hairy backs sh&$ing each other up the pooper". Not very romantic, not very hygienic and not a great advertisement for the youngsters IMO.

Your right in some ways

I was going through a phase last year where I wanted to live *life to the fullest " and attended many Guru events and firewalking.

Being gay though ...it sounds like a real pain in the A

Queers are born queer, it is an affliction not of their making. So I don't believe in causing them any grief on account of their affliction. However I do object to those that espouse that this is some kind of normal state of existence.

The OP is experiencing homosexual PANIC!

So tragic for him.

I would say OK Boomer, but I'm a boomer and I oppose stereotypes of boomers having such regressive atttitudes.

The reality is that representation of sexual minorites is not going to make more people gay any more than represenation of blacks will make more people black.

Certainly there is ZERO chance that media representation is going to make most people gay and interfere with human reproduction -- to assert that is PARANOID and INSANE.

It does make more people not afraid to COME OUT, which is a good thing, as living a double life is extremely psychologically stressful. Yes societies change in different directions. Sadly not enough straight people understand how deeply psychologically damaging being in the closet is or perhaps many more of them would understand how important representation is.

Straight people are not closeted because unless they give strong clues otherwise EVERYONE just assumes that they are straight. DUH.

He could always move to Russia like this homophobic fascist!

If you're talking about Drag Queen Story Hours I would say not in schools, but fine if parents are OK with it and the shows aren't bawdy (as they generally would not be at such events).

But bottom line, I think this is one of those way overblown manufactured outrage things that fuel the fortunes of Fox News, etc.

Again I don't think that children viewing drag queen entertainers makes the children gay or drag queens.

It's basically THEATER and artistic expression.

They can assert all day, I'm just not that into their thing.

Same with Jewish culture. Probably more Jewish-interest documentaries than any other belief system. No way am I tossing them 90 minutes.

I like 70's era gay stories where they're going to Studio 54 or being Leathermen in Cruising, rather than current stories where they're having complicated problems with their families. Boys In The Band on Netflix is a great drama (again, redone from the 70's version).

The Indian in The Village People was my neighbor. I wasn't even that into him.

What gay characters or films have you enjoyed?

Watch what interests you. Don't watch what doesn't interest you. Sorted.

You don’t have to get it. You don’t have to worry. It’s perfectly normal for some. It doesn’t affect you so it’s not your business. Everyone is not gay so your last sentence is nonsense.

There was an episode of "The Last of Us" starring Pedro Pascal which focused solely on two gay guys growing old together. This show was supposed to be a zombie apocalyptic dystopia sci-fi thing. Even my gay friends said that episode was too gay.

Sometimes the gay agenda is too forced, and my gay friends agree.
