Got an urge to watch the movie "Shooter" again, so did because IMO it is an excellent movie, starring Mark Wahlberg, Michael Pena and the delightful Kate Mara, also Danny Glover.

Never tire of watching it!!

The Grand Tour S06E01. This will be the last apparently. Watched half the first episode (over 2 hours) last night, found it to be up to previous standards with humour etc.

Lately I have been struggling to find much to keep me entertained on the screen but after a bit of searching I came across some movies I somehow missed before that kept me interested.  Its a very varied bunch of movies I admit but maybe someone else will find something to interest amonst them:

The General  1998  (7.2)  Brendan Geeson, John Voight.  Irish crime boss Martin Cahill's

    true story.

The Savage Peace (7.6) 2015  Documentary on the suffering begun in Europe after WW2.

Harrison's Flowers (7.0)  2000 Rescue of a missing journalist in worn torn Yugoslavia.

Greedy People (6.2)  2024 Cop crime comedy.

James Dean (7.1) 2001 His story.

Northwest Passage (7.0) 1940  Spencer Tracy, classic cowboys and indians saga.

The Wiper Times (7.0) 2013  War/comedy, WW1 trench newspaper producers.

Apollo 13: Survival (7.3) 2024  The story.

Night Moves (7.1) 1975 Gene Hackman Crime/Drama.  PI tracking runaway teenager.

Buffalo Bill and the Indians (6.1)  1976  Paul Newman as Buffalo Bill in a wild west show.

Cosmic Psychos: Blokes You Can Trust. (7.9)  2013  You may need to be Aussie to enjoy             this Aussie outback grunge band and its humour.

Good viewing!

Many thanks for the list above as I watched Harrison's Flowers last night and thought it was very good, so more will be on my list to watch over the coming nights.

Watching the film bought back the horrors of the "Bosnian war" and how at the time I thought that Bosnians and Serbs were animals because of their cruelty. Upon reflection, I shouldn't have thought like that because that has been a feature of many wars since time immemorial, and I remember just a few days ago commenting on the "Sand Creek Massacre" where old women and children were butchered and mutilated.

Then of course there were the Nazi concentration camps where millions of Jews were murdered, then the Mai Lai massacre in Vietnam, onto the rape of Nanking and many more .........all horrendous and just goes to prove that " man's cruelty to man" knows no boundaries, sad as it is.

If not for torrents ... I'd have to find another hobby for my night time hours, since not a bar fly, and not much happens in rural PKK.

Night time? How about booboom and sleep?

Agreed.  I am sure you will also find The Savage Peace quite rivetting.  At the end I had to remind myself who are the supposed 'good' guys and who are the 'baddies' as it gets quite blurry.

Last night I watched Soldier Blue (1970) aka American Diplomacy and the Indian Solution.   Nothing has changed, just like today the soldiers with cannons had the "right to defend themselves" against savage women and children armed with white flags.

I would think they're givens, and no need to mention.   Life essentials, like drinking water :coffee1:

I watched part of the movie, "The Savage Peace" and it brought back memories of another doco I'd seen some while ago, and it might have even been this one?

I had also watched a doco which challenged the well worn cliché that it was only the Nazis who were killing and torturing the Jews in Germany, and it did this by showing home movies of Jews being attacked in the streets and being dragged out of their homes and beaten by "everyday" Germans!

These two along with a particularly gutwrenching doco about what was found in the concentration camps after the British arrived there, really made me understand that man's cruelty to men knows no bounds – – which was partly why I stopped viewing the movie, "The Savage Peace" because this was really about the payback/retribution/revenge for what occurred in the war, and I've had my fill of this.

However thank you for bringing it to my attention and I will work my way through the other movies shortly, and by way of mention, I will also look for the movie suggested by you in the PM. Many thanks.

Pretty sick species.  There are also reports of the French police under the Vichy regime rounding up Jews and seizing assets BEFORE the Nazis ordered them to.

I watched the 2009 movie Orphan and was impressed. I’m excited to watch the prequel, Orphan: First Kill, this coming weekend.

You saved it for 2 years? 🙂

So annoying when Part 2 of series never turns up. Case in point, The Girl On The Milk Carton and 24 Hours in Police Custody S17E02.

Thanks for that. Kept checking on TG and PB where I found the first parts, but Part 2 on both never showed up.
