It is easy to check just take a bottle of water and splash it on a couple places,if the water runs off they did a good job, as the finish wears off more of the water will bead up and eventually it will pool when it needs to be done again. Key to keeping the finish up is washing the car with a good quality mild car soap. If your buying a white car no matter how well you keep it up it does not have the same luster as a dark color.  The idea is to protect the finish and keep it looking good for as long as possible. It's up to you whether you think it's worth it.

Thanks for the details. This is pretty much what I’m hoping for. Mine is a Civic RS as well, in red. I was surprised at the amount of extras they threw in without even asking (rear sensors, dash cam, mats, boot liner, plus the usuals) and 130,000 baht discount. I pick it up tomorrow.  
I think you’re right about the colour. My current Civic is white and it has faded, even though I’ve taken great care of it. This is causing a problem as potential buyers assume it’s been in an accident as both bumpers and other plastic panels are whiter than the rest.  

No coating will help with the paint color on bumpers/plastics aging differently than the paint color on the steel.

Thanks. This is one question I had before. Am I right in assuming though that this applies more to lighter colours?

After a few years, the paint on the plastic always looks a bit different than on the steel. This is because of the way the different primers interact with the substrate and finish paint. 

 

It may or may not be more apparent on lighter colors, but as far as I can tell, it's always noticeable.

Try taking it to a good detailing shop. They can do alot to correct the paint finish, which will make the car easier to sell. Good luck with your RS, I'm in the process of moving money so it will be a couple weeks for me. Best car on the market in that price range.

Agreed on the best car for the price, imo.

I did take the old one to a detailers in Bangkok and got a 'full colour restoration' done on it. It's better than before, but they said it couldn't be fully restored, as it would need a respray to do that. I then advised they should rename their product in that case. It cost 6,000 baht. 

How long does it takes the whole coating procedure? I need only the hood, all car is already coated but I replaced the hood due to accident, now its brand new but no coating yet. Can I take car after coating the same day they apply it, considering I live 5 minutes from the coating place?

I don’t know, but the recoat (whole car) takes around four hours. This is done every few months.
