A Ukrainian man damaged public and private property inside the Patong Police Station and caused a public nuisance, reportedly due to being completely broke and having no way to pay for a ticket back to the Ukraine.

The Patong Police told the Phuket Express that the Ukrainian man became nervous and mentally unstable due to having no money to go back home to the Ukraine. The unidentified man had been staying at the police station for several days with police providing him food and water while police worked with the Ukraine Embassy to attempt to find a way to return the man home.

 

On Sunday (January 14th), the Ukrainian man caused a public nuisance at the Patong Police Station after seemingly suffering a mental breakdown, damaging some property inside the station and frightening other people present. He was taken to the Patong Hospital and psychiatric medicine was given to him to calm him down.

He'd rather be jailed or hospitalized than go back to war, and who can blame him for that.

He should get asylum in Thailand, with an allowance of 50k baht/month with a free condo. And all should be paid by the new tax that all Russian war criminals coming to Thailand have to pay.

What makes you think he doesn't want to "go back to war"?  If he was drafted to fight, he'd likely still be under arms, or, if he was discharged after serving the 18-months of service, he does not have to go back under arms.

 

I think the odds are more likely that he ran back in 2022 and has finally run out of money, or family support.

Yeah, it went a little bit wrong there. Unfortunately, I saw it after edit time was gone, so just have to live with it. Maybe Putin can get an infiltrator.

Some pretty cruel comments here that show no empathy whatsoever. We don't know much about him or what drove him to this state. I can just imagine the agony of no money.

I think he's afraid to be send to the front and fight for his country. 

He doesn't want to die but enjoy life in Pattaya. Now Zelensky will pay for his ticket.
