Thailand’s national police chief, Pol Gen Torsak Sukwimon, visited Pattaya for a brief meeting on Monday, pledging a renewed focus on legal compliance and the implementation of laws on police conduct and the prevention of forced disappearances.

The meeting, held at the Hilton Hotel on January 22nd, was attended by several high-ranking officers in the Royal Thai Police.

Pol Gen Torsak chaired the meeting and emphasized the importance of adhering to the law for both citizens and police officers alike. Specifically, he urged officers to avoid claiming ignorance of the law, especially the newly enforced Anti-torture and Enforced Disappearance Act, as it could erode public trust.

So from today all cars with black windscreens will be taken off the roads?  All pick-ups will be checked for seatbelts in the back?  All red-light runners/speedsters will have their vehicles crushed?  Both Pattaya's cops will be exhausted.

When did this come into effect?

How many times have we heard about police reforms? the cops seem to get worse daily.

Looks more like a deer caught in the headlights.

How many of them are crooks, how many paid to get their high rank? how many take money for promotions.

Oh urging officers, how about threatening them with dismissal and jail.

The whole RTP are farcical.

Has any resident of Pattaya noticed one iota of improvement by these visits by top policemen.  Except of course for the few hours during the visit.

I'm confused. Which one is the police chief?1466436_0.jpg.73e2fa46decea52bab5a412002047aeb.jpg
