Some of the Ev drivers on this thread appear to live in a parallel universe, where they spend around half of their lives in public toilets , Amazon coffee outlets, and 7-11s

The latter two don't come particularly cheap , so let's add the cost of those "essentials" on to the amazing running costs,  Not so cheap now is it?

Public toilets don’t cost anything, I wouldn’t call 7-11s and Amazon Coffee exactly expensive.

What a totally ridiculous post and you know it. Really smacks of desperation in trying to defend your untenable position on EVs.

Can you run the AC in the cars while they are charging? That would not be too bad.

Yes you can, and watch Netflix

I also watch HBO Go and MONOMAX sometimes but mostly YouTube. Main problem is that I finish charging too quickly to watch anything of substance unless I can’t find a suitable hotel and overnight in my car instead. The heat pump in my BYD works really well for those really cold nights during the CM winter months.

I am going to assume that was a rhetorical question.

I guess if you're sitting in your car eating cookies and drinking coffee from Amazon while waiting for your turn to charge, watching Netflix would be worth paying a premium for.

EVs come with Netflix subscriptions?

should do as you will need to watch a whole film whilst charging a noddy car

What the hell kind of logic is that ?

If driving an ICEV, I'd still pop into the vendors at PTT Parks, so not any added cost since I arrived in an EV.  Getting a bit silly now.

Amazon & 7-11 are expensive ? :cheesy:

Yea, that 20 ish baht coffee at 7-11 really sets me back.

I can tell you don't live in TH.

TROLL ON

You can tell nothing,  Troll off, but don;t forget to recharge  or you will be loitering in public toilets again ( with like minded others)

nothing untenable about my position ,  I'm not the one following what is basically a woke trend, and attempting to justify it with repeated b/s

I would not class petrol; as particularly expensive, at around 35p per litre its considerably cheaper than the coffee served in either of the above

And we will soon need entertaining whilst queuing to get into 7=11  and amazon and the "rest room"   no need to worry about that though as the spectacle of dozens of geriatric ev owners, resplendent in flat caps and driving gloves, fighting to get hooked up to a charging point will be entertaining enough,  I can see a sub industry of barbers shops , laundrettes and massage parlours to name but a few, getting ready to set themselves up on every forecourt.    best pack the" travel chess" too, there will be no pornhub to watch when the batteries are flat .  What about those "i-Spy" books,  they will be making a come back soon I guess.

it would be essential,   you probably can turn it on but allow around a week to fully charge

A suitable hotel presumably means one with a charging point,  bet there's no shortage of them     "overnight in my car"   Is that really any way to behave  "heat pump" or not ?

Charging Station price per 1 kWh ... <8 baht

MG ZS ICE vs EV cost per 320 kms (I own/owned both)

ICE ... ฿834

EV ... ฿370

EV ... @ home ... <฿5

Using excess Solar ... FREE

And you are concerned about my ฿20 cup of coffee from 7-11 :cheesy:

I recently visited an Amazon and a blueberry muffin and a large coffee cost over 100 baht what do you drink Birdy out of a can?    do you honestly think it will still be 8baht per kwh  in the unlikely event that we all end up with an ev ?  get real

Why bother to even join in a debate if you can only do so childishly? There's no point. Just say you personally don't like EVs (even though I am willing to bet a large sum you've never tried one) and move on, that would be best for everyone.

How large a sum would you like to lose, ?

Cheaper to take up knitting,  plus one could compare ones latest steering wheel covers, whilst waiting to get hooked up to the leccy supply

PEA price for electric has been steady, the past 20+ year, ฿3.5 - ฿4.5

Can't say the same about petrol prices.  When we bought the MG ZS ICE, E85 was about 15% less than 91.  Cost per 100 kms was about the same, but a wee bit more peppier with E85, since designed to use.

They sure did close that gap, as not not worth using, and about same price as 91, and 2X what it cost at the end of 2020.
