What is wrong?

Featured Replies

Now I had problems using my mouse on my laptop, when I used my mouse and tried to stroll up or down it would just go anywhere. Just using the mouse using the reel to go up and down it does not work. So, I bought a new mouse and thinking that will fix my problem and yes for a few days but now I have the same problems with the new one. What is the problem? Is it the Laptop?

Well mine is not working at all

  • I had the same problem.  I moved the mouse dongle from the USB port at the back to one at the front and that cured it.  Just a bad connection I suppose.

I doubt it - how much did this new mouse cost?

If it's a wireless bluetooth mouse it can skip and lag. I use a wireless one with a dongle.

I never bought it my nephew bought it but it still does the same thing as the old one, visualise using your mouse and you want to go up using the wheel, but it goes down

Well I can only suggest you try another one - the one that I wrote about - the Logitech 221 and maybe try a different USB port.

Not necessarily. A bluetooth connection usually doesn't need a dongle.

But he said he has a wireless mouse not a Bluetooth mouse:

Hope that helps.

The new mouse is only a few months old I bought in Thailand since the old one didn't seem to work but the new one seems to give me the same trouble, I am thinking it is my laptop which getting old now.

I had the same issue. It is because of some dust stuck inside.

You can either open it and clean it, or just use canned air to spray the dust from the wheel, or even blow with your mouth.

I did all that, but it did not make any different and don't forget the mouse is new.

Two questions; Are you using Windows? And have you tried adjusting the mouse settings?

By adjusting the mouse I mean;

  1. Open Settings:
  2. Windows key + I (shortcut)
  3. Go to "Devices"
  4. Select "Mouse"
  5. Then try the several mouse options available (mouse speed, troubleshoot, etc).

Or, go to your local computer shop and ask them to have a look! 😁

This is actually a good idea. There are plenty of shops which should be able to figure it out easily. It's hard to do that remote via a forum.

Actually, it may be as simple as "disable" the built-in laptop mouse, so the laptop just receives info from the plug in mouse you've bought, or download the software for the external mouse.

Bluetooth mouse is still wireless just another kind/type. Don't argue with me...I'm a millennial gamer.🤣

May I ask what is the model of your laptop and the software you are using? Sometimes it could be the driver acting up or you need to update your SS.

Mine does same occasionally. I either plug the dongle into another port or restart the laptop.

At that price it is certainly fake, but if it works, it works.

Did you click on the scroll wheel instead of rolling it? That changes the scroll wheel behavior.
