A 14-year-old boy has been arrested following the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old in downtown Hua Hin last Thursday evening.

Hua Hin Police Station launched an investigation into the incident, which happened on Naresdamri close to the entrance to Hua Hin Fishing Pier.

The shooting not only claimed the life of the young victim, known as “Nong Din,” but also left his 16 year old friend seriously injured after being caught in the gunfire.

Police say they have evidence including CCTV footage, physical evidence from the scene, and eyewitness accounts, that led to the identification of two young suspects: a 14-year-old shooter and a 16-year-old accomplice.

Following their elders pattern?

why has this not received anywhere near as much press as swiss david?

surely a teen gunning someone down in public is more severe than a man allegedly kicking someone?

or is it just me?

bob.

How sad to see youth getting more and more aggressive and using weapons.

How did this 14 years old boy get a gun?!

No..it's not you. People don't like reading about Thais being in trouble.....much preferable reading if a foreigner is the target. This and the BP forums, show that very clearly.

Watch local Thai news.  Plenty of coverage of Thai's commiting crimes.

A site for expats is going to have more coverage of expat crimes just by it's nature.

What does the picture of a cops lanyard and pips have to do with the story?

No - just giving the people what they want - information related to foreigners

Gun control going well then. Oh sorry that was just a few days 'clampdown'.

It tells you a lot about Thailand, doesn't it. You and I and everyone else knows that if a Thai had kicked the doctor then there would have been no social media outrage and hundreds turning up to protest.

Where I come from, the UK, we don't have kids roaming the streets with guns. There was also the kid on the rampage in Siam Paragon, and another instance in recent months somewhere I've forgotten.

And before anyone comments, yes the UK has serious knife crime issues, but that is on a different level to kids carrying guns and those attacks are almost exclusively within one ethnic group (which the police officially refuse to confirm by saying they do not rank crimes by ethnicity.)

cannot be jailed, so... what happens?

Thailand does have juvenile detection centres, as reported right here

It took me less time to discover that than it did for me to type this post. Can't you use Google search?
