Trang – A 60-year-old Swiss Expat who allegedly brutally attacked a 58-year-old Thai woman at a supermarket in Trang City is being detained at a court and being banned from leaving Thailand.

 

 

The Trang City Police told the Phuket Express that the suspect, Mr. Straumann, is facing charges of causing bodily harm and causing severe injuries. Mr. Straumann has refused to sign and print his finger to consent to the accusation on documents. He also is facing charges of resisting law enforcement officers on duty. He was moved from the Trang City Police Station to the Trang Provincial Court.

 

The Trang Immigration Office told the Phuket Express that Mr. Straumann is now on the ‘Watch List’. He is being banned from leaving the country. About visa revocation, he has to wait for the final judgement from the court. In addition, the Trang Immigration has not received any report from the Trang Police that Mr. Straumann is a danger to the public.

Thais  will. Most end up sitting in those salas  with no bra and a flappy sarong thing out in the  sticks, they  look about 90 but in reality 60ish, told my wife if  she ever starts wearing that  stuff  im off

This guy seems to be mental and the other guy in Phuket is also a bit out of oder,but it's scary what they doing with them.If a Thai guy did the same thing nobody would be interested and with 1000bt and a wai life goes on.

Comparing with Thai people is meaningless and gives you more stress.  All foreigners must behave, and the slightest deviation must be dealt with harshly. The gall of these people travelling 10,000 miles to find a life and women in some cases that they could not find in their home country and then behaving rudely with the locals because the locals can go scot free for the same behavior. What a stupid arguments. Locals did not travel 10,000 miles to find their life and love in a foreign land. If foreigners are not dealt harshly for the slightest inappropriate behavior, it will cause chaos, and foreigners will go berserk in Thailand, as evidenced by their postings on YouTube, TikTok, and other social media platforms.

People doing the same crimes are to be dealt with equally, no matter the country. Anyone going scot free for a crime that incarcerates another is a misuse of the judicial system and corruption, and not a good thing for international relations. There's a lot of hate crime worldwide and Asians are punished for the behaviors of their peers in situations like these. All people should behave, everywhere.

For the uninformed, I assume you are referring to the old 21 Division Vice Squad in Sydney, historically some of the most corrupt & violent cops ever to wear a uniform - most local police in LOS are complete nuns by comparison.

You're lost if you can't understand equal pay for equal crimes. What gives a country a bad reputation is how it treats other foreigners, and it's money lost when those foreigners tell others what happened to them, and it gets passed along to thousands. People getting a slap on the wrist for murder while others go to jail for having one joint happens, and it has always been wrong.

After what you read in the daily news , many thais are a danger to the public as well ... What to do with them ?
