"brutal assault" Here we go again, just as it was slowing down a bit. Imagine those two will spend some time in the hoosegow, not that I care what they do to them. The Thai media is going to run with this for another week at least. Starting with the swiss kicker this has been a solid month of the evil that farang do. You bet the Chinese diplomatic crew are laughing their hind ends off at this turn of events.

Geez, let's wait until we get both sides, of the story.

In NZ it is reported that the guys were protecting themselves.

But as usual, on here, we get the "hang the farang" attitude. Guys, Thai police are not law abiding people, even Thais will tell you that.

Getting both sides of the story is irrelevant, the police represent the state and have power, they are foreigners and have none. If they are hoping for an unbiased trial western style they are in for a big disappointment, what they did was foolish in the extreme. Refusing to stop was arrogant and things escalated from there, the RTP can't let this go, the loss of face alone was enormous, they are bound to be locked up for years.

This is one of the reasons Police in the UK have wearable cameras. Then we could have seen what really started this!

They was trying to get away because they had no licence on them but O.B didn't know who they were so probably drew his gun. They got no right wrestling with the copper they was in the wrong, BTW every kiwi I've met here wants a scrap after 3 bottles of singha

These Muay Thai schools seem to be attracting the wrong elements, bringing problems to that area !

Will they be taking responsibility for these guys actions ,

Have to say that's what the video points towards.

But this won't end well for them, neither will it help the image of foreigners here.

What video, do you have a link to share with us? The one the screenshots are from only shows the guy on top of the cop wrestling him down.

Only a moron would not at least consider the possibility that what is being reported might not be the whole story or might have elements lacking in truth.

Before you condemn them ask yourself the question: Am I a moron?

That said, maybe they did act violently against the police.  I don't know.

And the cameras always seem to be malfunctioning or turned off when they are accused of something, funny how that works

If that had been in the uk.

The cops would have pulled a Ham Sandwich from there pockets and asked the guys,  if they were hungry.

and maybe,  in the next month can you produce your documents at the local police station, if is ok with you.

Based solely on one photo, handling of the firearm, and the chokehold, is it possible these two are law enforcement officers in NZ?

It will be interesting to see how this is resolved...criminal charges or a misunderstanding with much waiing.

There's more to this story than the footage and twisted up story shows.

I wish they could present it in a raw, factual and non-biased form without the witch hunt journalism.

Adam Judds account is vastly more professional than the second story.

The kiwi is clearly saying they were attacked and are shown trying to disarm the cop and make the gun safe for fear of their life.

I would like to see the part where the angelic officer kindly "asked for cooperation from them to stop their motorbikes" (for riding in a way that is quite normal for Thailand) and somehow lost one of his bullets.

Plenty of cameras down around that area with the Chalong Police station and tunnels so where is the footage showing the whole encounter?

The guy has BJJ experience and generally controlling someone from their back like that is quite a harmless defence not an "attack".

Without the full footage it doesn't look good for them regardless.

Hope the whole police force go after these vermin

mmm.... you think disarming Police in a Western country is a good idea and acceptable - or only as a foreigner in a SE Asia country ? ... you think this would lead to a good outcome in say the USA ??

so, if a gun is drawn on you by Police in say the USA.... is it acceptable to disarm the Police ?.. you think this would lead to a good outcome in the USA ?... I have never heard of Thai Police shooting a foreigner unless there was some sort of "Police chase".. maybe there have been instances but I have never heard of them...

Although the incident is serious in nature, anyone notice that loads of Thais did nothing, had it been a Thai man, loads of THAI WOULD HAVE JOINED IN TO FIGHT< BUT HELP THE POLICE >>>>NARRY A ONE> Now that tells you something !!!

Because the sport attracts aggressive types of farangs who like fighting?

Some who are convicted offenders in their own country let into Thailand without criminal checks

Throw them in jail and give them a taste of Thai prison for a few years then deport them and never let them come back.....

How do you know, they could have been acting in self defence, could have been a drunk cop overacting and turned his gun on these two, looks like thesudued the officer and were holding his gun, they were not pointing it at him, I'll bet the cop was on something.

indeed.. NZ has a lot of foreign imports... just because they are White does not infer they were originally from NZ.. NZ now takes all kinds of riffraff with only pathetic checks by NZ immigration - which is designed to make it hard for the honest decent people to get into NZ... getting a license for a pistol in NZ is not easy....

So weird to see that assertion, and then I remember the world isn't america. I don't think I know anybody at all back in theUSA that doesn't know how to handle a weapon.
