I just scored some of this at the local Lotus'ssss

The trail mix version is great, plus almond and honey.  Buy one get one free 140 baht.

Best deal out there for granola at the moment.

Where is this Makro and how do they hope to sell cauliflower at that price, do people seriously pay such amounts?

This was the Pattaya Makro on Sunday, February 12, 2023

I bought the local (yellowish) cauliflower instead..I doubt that anyone would be silly enough to pay that price.

dedollarization of the USD???

With the upcoming dedollarization of the USD, maybe baked beans should replace the McDonald's Big Mac International Currency comparison.:coffee1:

Rip-off price, should shop at Siamburi's - and buy Branston BB's as taste better

Heinz 129 baht on Lazada!!

There is a company in Pattaya making and selling Aussie pies, at the expensive price of 150 baht and up, and there's a company making British-style pies at 75 baht and up. The only difference between Heinz baked beans and Ayam baked beans (English recipe)is that Heinz only uses one sized bean and the other uses all the beans and is cheaper and tastes the same. SO! shop around there are some great deals around.

I only paid 199 thb a can on Shopee for Bush's baked beans and they are twice as tasty then Heinz!!!

Shopee and Lazada is the way to go for imported foods...

Obvious solution...stick to local food, it's very good!!

Having just returned from the UK, and maybe because I’ve lived here for a long time, I think this Thai brand tastes much nicer.

Brook beans B220 for three tins, much better than H57

Never felt the need for baked beans in Thailand....

Baked Beans win wars.

I get mine from Expat Foods or Siamburri's.

Heinz are usually 90thb, but Branston are cheaper and similar quality.

The Ayam and Brooks brand ones are sub-par in comparison imo.

Still... Thailand is a free country. (ferly free anyway)
Up to the shop to set the prise..... Up to you whether you want to bay it or not.

Brook's are the best alternative by far

Indeed, I like Brooks and they are widely available.

Heinz are well over priced, but then again for me Ayam are just fine too - I only need the small tin as I probably eat beans about once a month max.

This is an outrage, who do I complain to? The American Embassy? 🤣

Actually JoePai,  originally Ayam was founded by a French gentleman.

It then moved to Asia and is huge in Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand, China, France and the UK.

In total Ayam is available in 30 countries.

I agree with some of the other comments, there are plenty of non Heinz bake beans that are equally as good for a much more reasonable price.  However, you can get Heinz for 129 Baht, 159 Baht and or 179 Baht.

And just where do you buy them for 40 baht? Makro around 60-70 baht a tin

They are 49 baht for a large tin and 36 baht for a small tin at Big C

Isn't it a bit alarming that someone thinks a story like this is worth publishing?

No, this is important economic news.

I don't understand why I can beans are so expensive in this country I buy my own dried beans for £1 \500 grams and make my own.

I am outraged a tin of beans in the U.K. is £1.60, only a couple years ago 50/60p, what excuse is used for the 100% increase ?
