Assassins come in all shades and colors.  They can come from the radical right to the radical left and their targets are often those that are highly popular with the general population.

Some just have a mental illness though

Look at Sydney Bondi junction shopping centre the guy ruining around stabbing women

We must have more support for these offenders

Whose bright idea was it to deinstitutionalize mental facilities?

Amendments can be gotten rid of, or, regulations introduced to control guns. Simple if it wasn't for dodgy politicians

then shut up and do something about it. stop whining online and actually do something if you care about your country so much.

blue maga is strong with you.

Said only one person, it's not a possible assassination attempt it is a failed assassination attempt. The media who whip up hysterical lies about Trump wanting to be a dictator and even calling him Hitler have some responsibility for this

Yeah and even stranger, the shooter has been identified and they claim he was a Republican!

An AMENDMENT  written in 1791 is still relevant? Ya gotta be kidding me

And your constitution for a monarchy written in 1900... Ya gotta be kidding  me... a monarchy worshiping the "royal" family...

The Constitution was drafted between 1891 and 1898 at a series of conventions conducted by representatives of the six self-governing British colonies in Australia: New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania.[a] This final draft was then approved by each state in a series of referenda from 1898 to 1900. The agreed constitution was transmitted to London where, after some minor modifications, it was enacted as section 9 of the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act 1900, an act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It came into effect on 1 January 1901 at which point the six colonies became states within the new Commonwealth of Australia.

Complete shizophrenia, typical for most of the US-REPs!

Many many US-Americans innocently have lost their life, because of the dangerous weapon policy of their home country! This was supported at best by the NRA (National Rifle Association) ..... of course by money. The policy is the real reasen.

As so many US people have been killed by private arms, NO problem. Now Trump has been hit in the ear... oh what a crime 😀.

You apparently have no idea of the repercussions that would follow a successful assassination of Trump. It was just a couple of inches that saved the US from catastrophe. No wonder the Dems are all coming out happy he wasn't killed.

It's one of those situations that could have been so terrible, but was miraculously avoided.

The world would be so completely different had the Archduke Franz Ferdinand not been assassinated.

Nothing strange about that at all. Loads of GOP hate Trump and some of them are in congress. That's pretty well known IMO.

I don't see many on the left condoning this act of violence. Just right wing nutters saying what you said.

LOL, I suspect that most on the left ( and a few on this forum ) are regretting that the shooter was a bad shot. They are just not going to say so in public.

The shooter's motive, other than to kill Donald Trump, has not been determined or revealed at this time.  It would be interesting to find out what he thought eliminating  him would accomplish.

Trump has no reason to do one as his opponent is likely to lose anyway.

the motive for a false flag would be to create total chaos.

i dont think anyone will "lose the election". i dont think there will be anything that resembles a normal election.

this event is a prelude to chaos.

It was only a false flag if the shooter was able to hit an ear and not kill him.

I don't care about individual posts. The vast majority are against.

Or this just in... and growing... In the aftermath of the recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump, some left-wing social media users have come under fire for their tasteless and celebratory reactions.

This is a great setup for a stable third party candidate to win the election. The underdog party has a good chance of winning if they can remain relatively neutral and draw attention to the problems of the main party candidates.

Only if yet another Kennedy doesn't end up shot, as the Biden administration has denied him Secret Service coverage.

why was there no secret service on the rooftop that the shooter was on ? so close to the incident it would seem like protocol to have ss on that roof during the trump rally.

Clearly, someone screwed up, and there will be investigations.

In such a scenario, the squabbles between Trump and Biden kind of converge and work together against them. The specifics get lost and people just move to another party candidate.

Another absurd suggestion. A strong one third party run would send the election to congress as no candidate would get 270 electoral votes, and then congress would put in Trump.

Rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine, penned a lengthy thread on X about the hyperbole in American politics, urging politicians to stop framing their opponents as "fascists."

The vulnerable Democrat congressman took to X to denounce the current path that he says the country is on, adding that leaders need to guide America down a different one.

"We can start by dropping hyperbolic threats about the stakes of this election," he wrote. "It should not be misleadingly portrayed as a struggle between democracy or authoritarianism or a battle against fascists or socialists bent on destroying America. These are dangerous lies."

I blame Robert Di Nero. "If Trump gets voted in he will never leave." Sure, just like he did last time he was voted in. 🙄
