Worldwide condemnation and international shame and humiliation is the most we can ask for at this point.

And all they will do is close ranks and pretend the world is wrong.  They really don't care.

Unlike the Myanmar people, Thai's lack any type of backbone to demand anything, they will continue to act as obedient servants to the Elites.

No seat for them . They will not . In the end they not care about what reputation they have in the world ... as long as the leaders in Thailand ... stay in their position . No change

I think that's a bit unfair. There are some who have protested and are in prison. I think one girl died as well.

The Thai Elite are unfazed, probably happy to have one less disobedient servant, it's going to take a lot more than a hungerstrike to change anything here.

Sex tourists could also vote with their feet, but sex tourists like doing their sex touristy things, so they remain in Thailand and support whichever government does the best to keep the population dumb.

To keep there johnson numb may be a better expression

This done by an ilegitimate government which stole the election so Thaksin could return to Thailand  and continue to flout Thai laws. What a travesty for Thailand and it's people.

https://edition.cnn.com/2024/08/07/asia/thailand-move-forward-dissolved-int-hnk/index.htmlPita Limjaroenrat, of the Move Forward Party, during a news conference at the Thai Parliament complex in Bangkok, Thailand, on January 31, 2024.Wednesday’s ruling goes further, dissolving the party and banning its executives from politics for 10 years – effectively disenfranchising 14 million people who voted for them and raising fresh concerns about the erosion of democratic rights in the kingdom.

The sad thing about all this is the Thai people will just accept this "same same" the MFP should be saying we do not accept this and fight  Thought the MFP where saying the court did not have the power to do this if so fight  but nothing will happen

Democracy is the government of the people, by the people, for the people. do Thais not understand this ???

Thai Citizens have a set of rights and responsibilities, including the right to participate in decisions this is a fundamental right all this being ignored by a few  Stand Up Thailand

This should not go to the courts but to The people

One MFP MP, Jirat Thongsuwan, told the media recently that an assistant to a minister asked him to join his party for 30 million baht.

MFP had experts ready to argue that the court did not have the authority to disband them, the court refused to allow them to present their case.

That’s got nothing to do with anything.  Why do you post on a serious topic?  Go play in the Community Pub, let the adults talk here.

Remarkable that MFP got in trouble after they won the election. It is a proof that Thailand is a totalarian regime and a autocracy is... Sadly for the people, who are now even more in trouble and they are being silenced with the 10k scheme. But the economy and tourism will be going down, as the political situation is getting more and more instabile.

The Constitutional Court of Thailand today announced a verdict to dissolve the Move Forward Party (MFP

Shame on all of you "high establisment" creeps still living in the Dark Ages!

How much was stuffed into brown envelopes for each of you to get rid of the most popular Thai political party as voted for by THE PEOPLE!!

If there is any civil unrest, you will be totally responsible.  As for the Monarchy, I better keep my gob shut with the exception of remembering Oliver Cromwell (UK History)

Even Donald Trump has more class than most Thai politicians.

Are Thais living in a democracy when 14 million votes can be easily ignored by the Constitutional Court?

Does anyone claim that they are?

Actually, they allowed Thaksin back in order to steal the election.

Laws implemented by coup seizing generals topple the democratically elected party and PM years later! spectacular corruption laid bare I hope these actions have serious repercussions starting with all banned MP's changing their name to Tony🤔

Highly unlikely.  That only really happened because of covid.

Really sad day for the Thai people who voted for Pita and the MFP. With recent International press stories of Thailand interesting the Tabloid press, this will be picked by the Broadsheets and the Financial press, so funding canal initiatives will take a Western downturn.

With Srettha's fate to be announced within the next 3 weeks, Thailand's International political stability will take a further nosedive.

Exactly the outcome which was decided some months ago. No surprise. What will happen now is the interesting bit. The power of the minority elite and the military can not and will not be challenged through democratic means. Will the Thai people rise up and force reform?

Not unless they don't get their promised Bt 10,000.

Thailand is over...  it will never change for the better..

I see another coup in the near future....

I don't directly see a reason for a new coup, because Thaksin is obviously in bed with the military. Once there are some cracks in that relationship, the tanks will come out again

No reason, the Elites now have exactly what they wanted, complete control of the country.

No. Thailand is NOT a democracy. It is what I would refer to as a gentle junta. After all, the army negotiated with Thaksin, and he sold his soul and his party to them.

Thailand is a Kleptocracy.

In a kleptocracy, corrupt politicians enrich themselves secretly outside the rule of law, through kickbacks, bribes, and special favors from lobbyists and corporations, or they simply direct state funds to themselves and their associates. Also, kleptocrats often export much of their profits to foreign nations in anticipation of losing power.[6]
