Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksira Phueak-um, Commissioner of the Tourist Police, has assured enhanced safety measures for tourists attending the upcoming Full Moon Party on Koh Phangan, set to attract thousands of visitors.

The announcement came after a crucial security briefing held at the Vannee Golden Sands Hotel on September 18, involving key officials and representatives.

Joining the security discussions were Deputy Commissioner Pol. Maj. Gen. Phongsiyam Meekhantong, Pol. Maj. Gen. Phopphon Chakkapark, British Consul Joanne Finnamore-Crorkin, London Police Chief Inspector Lorenzo Conigliaro, as well as local district and municipal leaders, reported Daily News.

The main focus was on strategies to ensure the safety of the event, which will take place on Haad Rin Beach, the epicentre of the Full Moon Party festivities.

Post-meeting, a large-scale readiness check and public relations campaign was conducted right on Haad Rin Beach. This initiative involved a broad spectrum of agencies including the Koh Phangan District Office, Koh Phangan Police, Surat Thani Immigration, and the Koh Phangan Marine Department.

These groups, along with village committees, will work collectively to safeguard the well-being of tourists and locals alike.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Saksira emphasised that the initiative is in line with the government's tourism promotion policy led by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.

The aim is to create a secure environment that will attract more tourists, boosting the local economy. With the high tourist season around the corner, the Tourist Police are ramping up efforts to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Moreover, tourists can reach the Tourist Police via the 24/7 call centre at 1155, which is linked to emergency services at 191 and 1669, ensuring continuous support.

This comprehensive approach is expected to build confidence among tourists, reassuring them of their safety while enjoying one of Thailand’s most famous beach parties.

That photograph left me speechless.  That elderly white haired woman seems to have an interest in the partying of the young folks.   🤭

I admit to doing it every time I go swimming..🍺

Basically using the reason of ensuring safety to police the hell out of the party ,  the area and stop people enjoying themselves and no doubt telling them to turn down the music will be next .

Nice jolly up for the London (Met?) police officer.

Who wants all expenses paid trip to Koh Phangan to discuss the Full Moon Party?

The queues for the toilets will be long, because of course they will put plenty on the beach, and everybody will use them...................:coffee1::unsure:

Increased police means more drug busts of foreigner and hopefully better protection for silly girls that drink too much or drink the medicated drinks

Great timing. The FMP was on September 17th

The roads were very quiet for this months full moon which tells me the numbers are nothing like pre Covid prior to Covid the roads were a nightmare for a good three days !

But of course they are setting up everything to be safe. There will be no power drinking and overly drunk and aggressive people at the party. Neither will there be anybody slipping roofies in any drinks. Surely not any pick pockets as well as no use of illegal drugs. They going out before the party and stating this BS, will have absolutely no effect whatsoever in a positive direction regarding safety for partygoers.

Missing Thammanat Prompao as an expert among the safety insurers to make sure that nothing illegal is being consumed ....

I get the impression that Chief Inspector Lorenzo is seen by his Met bosses as a bit to 'up and coming' so they jumped at sending him on an obscure mission to Thailand where the local BiB Generals appear unimressed by his crowd control tuition.😀

No, she will be arrested for playing  bridge with her friends.

Police scam alert! Please be careful, don't buy from strangers, don't hold things for strangers. Just keep safe and enjoy your youth.

Why do you suppose I have to go out to get that? Must be lonely in your world, to always have to pay for what you so desperately need.

Again, there was nothing in my post that makes me unhappy. As I already posted to you before, there are only happiness in my world.

Tell me now what was unhappy in the post? I just referred to how it is. If that is unhappy to you, then the world must suck in your eyes.

Referred to how it is in your eyes. Everybody else is having a good time enjoying themselves but in your posts you try to bring them down. Relax and get a life. Stop being negative on everything. Mr Grumpy.

No, if you understand my post, I did not bring happy people down. I have no problem with people using drugs, getting drunk and partying all night. Would be a little bit bad to spike a drink and use the result for illegal purpose, but otherwise all fine with me.

What my post was pointing at, which is not fine with me, is that the police are trying to proclaim something about better safety, when they in reality do nothing more than show up days before and walking shaking hand with people.
