Thailand unveils destination visa to attract remote workers
The Government of Thailand is intensifying efforts to promote its new Destination Thailand Visa (DTV) to attract foreign nationals who wish to work while travelling in the country, according to Foreign Affairs Minister Maris Sangiampongsa. Maris announced that the ministry is playing a significant role in promoting the DTV, which is anticipated to generate revenue for Thailand. He emphasised that the visa will facilitate long-term stays for foreigners who want to work remotely while enjoying life in Thailand. “It will help facilitate foreign people who would like to stay for a long time in Thailand and also work long-distance.” Maris mentioned an example of a friend of his son who has been working for Disney World, based in the United States, but has been living in Phuket for the past six months. Hotel operators in Phuket have reportedly launched special packages targeting foreign digital nomads who prefer to live in Thailand while working remotely for overseas employers. These individuals are a key demographic for the DTV. Maris reassured that foreign nationals using the DTV will not need to worry about their visas expiring too soon or dealing with complex visa procedures. The DTV allows foreign nationals to stay in Thailand for extended periods and are considered global talents who will bring unique skills to the Thai economy. Destination visa Their presence is expected to benefit the entire economy, from local vendors to restaurants, hotels, and tourist attractions. “The programme is expected to generate income for local people as these foreign people can spend their money in local areas where they live and work at the same time for between six months and one year in Thailand. “This will also help stimulate the Thai economy. I welcome all of those who would like to come and work [while] in Thailand.” The DTV allows foreigners to stay in Thailand for up to 180 days per visit, with the option to extend for another 180 days, making it possible to stay for up to a year. Additionally, Thailand has expanded its visa-free entry policy, increasing the number of eligible countries from 57 to 93, including China and India. The entry period has been doubled to 60 days, extendable by another 30 days at an immigration office. To prevent potential misuse of the expanded visa exemption system, the government is introducing an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) system. This system is designed to be hassle-free for those planning visits to Thailand. Maris explained that the ETA will enhance the screening process of incoming visitors while improving security and travel convenience. The system is expected to be in effect by the end of the year. Upon completing the online ETA form, visitors with visa exemptions will receive unique QR codes, which they will need to present to immigration officials. Maris also mentioned that he recently discussed Thailand’s plan to become a regional tourism hub with foreign counterparts. The government is working on the Six Countries, One Destination scheme to position Thailand as a regional tourism hub. The countries involved are Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, and Vietnam, reported Bangkok Post. Maris committed to expediting negotiations with these five other ASEAN countries to implement this joint tourist visa policy with Thailand. “There has been much progress in the scheme, I believe it will take place soon. Garbage again. As far as the exeption is concerned, the number of transactions required is from one month after arrival until the very first 12 month application. The same "exception" applies to those that want to extend based on marriage, or are you going to argue the toss on that as well. Of course you are. Of course it's an option for the OP but there are those that want to suppress options they do not favour. It is the OP's decision, not yours. -

In order to be classified as a narcopath, malignant narcissist, or narcissistic sociopath, a person has to display several traits of both NPD and ASPD. Some of these signs include delusions, an obsession with power and control, taking advantage of others, and no moral boundaries. Here are 10 signs of a narcissistic sociopath: 1. They Live In a Deluded Reality Narcissistic sociopaths don’t see the world in the same way other people do. In their distorted version of reality, they are entitled to whatever they want, regardless of what it takes to get it or who is hurt in the process. They will justify their actions, even ones that are inexcusable, and show no remorse. A sociopath’s narcissism may also lead them to develop delusions of grandeur about being important, special, or exceptional in some way. Or, they can experience paranoid delusions that others are out to get them. 2. They Are Obsessed With Power & Control People with NPD and ADP are power-hungry. Sociopathic narcissists put a lot of time and effort into acquiring positions that give them power or control over people, bowling over anyone who gets in their way. Once they obtain control, they may demand to be addressed in a certain way or make others follow rules that don’t make sense. This obsession also tends to show up as a refusal to acknowledge any other authority, including rules, laws, policies, or requests made of them by others. 3. They Take Advantage of & Use Other People Narcissistic sociopaths have a habit of using, exploiting, and taking advantage of others. This tendency shows up in all of their relationships, including romantic, platonic, or familial relationships they’ve been able to maintain. They seek out codependent, nurturing individuals who are more easily manipulated and controlled through guilt, shame, or fear, and will hold onto these relationships for as long as the person remains useful. 4. They Have No Moral Boundaries There are no lines a narcissistic sociopath won’t cross to get what they want. Their moral compass is non-existent, leaving them without the sense of “right and wrong” that most people have. After doing something harmful, illegal, or sadistic, they won’t feel remorse, regret, or guilt. In fact, they may even feel a sense of satisfaction knowing they were able to deceive, emotionally manipulate, or hurt someone. 5. They Have a Limited Range of Emotions Narcissistic sociopaths don’t experience feelings of love and affection, or more vulnerable emotions like guilt, shame, or sadness. The only strong emotion they seem to be able to access is anger. This can show up as outrage or narcissistic rage when they’re slighted, offended, or not granted something they feel they deserve.4 This stunted emotional range also keeps them from being able to experience empathy, sometimes leading them to engage in destructive behaviors that grant them some form of feeling. 6. They Have a Huge Discard Pile Narcissistic sociopaths are known to discard people and things that are no longer useful to them. Over time, their narcissistic discard pile stacks up and may include former friends, lovers, colleagues, and mentors. Their discard pile may also include expensive material things they got bored or tired of, as well as roles or activities that served a purpose at one time but are no longer useful to them. 7. They Become Hostile When Threatened Narcissistic sociopaths are most dangerous when they feel threatened. Because of their natural tendency to be paranoid, less trusting, and more easily offended, threats can be a routine occurrence for them. When they feel threatened, the narcopath will often become hostile and aggressive, lashing out and becoming abusive toward others. 8. They Feed Off of Negative Energy A narcissistic sociopath feeds off of negative emotions and energy. There is something about drama, others’ fear or pain, or the chaos of disaster that seems to excite them or give them energy. This kind of parasitic attraction to negativity is a telltale sign of a sick person, including a person who may have traits of NPD and ASPD. This behavior is also what makes sociopathic narcissists sadistic and dangerous, causing them to enjoy the pain and suffering of others. 9. They Get Bored Easily A narcissistic sociopath is constantly seeking sensations and cheap thrills because nothing can hold their interest and attention for long. They become easily bored with people, things, and activities, and will abandon them once they are no longer entertained. This boredom can also turn into a restlessness that causes them to find destructive outlets. For this reason, people with these traits tend to be impulsive and aggressive, or engaged in crime, violence, or drug use. 10. They Are Empty Inside A narcissistic sociopath may have worked hard to craft a powerful, important image, but this is a front. Lacking the ability to feel a full range of emotions makes them hollow and empty on the inside, keeping them from really experiencing things, expressing themselves, or connecting with others. This internal emptiness is what they’re trying to hide from others with their narcissism, and also what they’re seeking to escape within themselves by using maintaining a level of entertainment, power, or destruction. -

The prestigious honour has gone to Phra Phrompacharayanmuni (Ajahn Jayasaro), a British-Thai Buddhist monk, whose dedication to spreading Thai Theravada Buddhism worldwide earned him his spot. “Ajahn Jayasaro has played a significant and rigorous role in making the essence of Thai Buddhism known to the world while promoting an international appreciation of Thai identity, culture, and spiritual values.” Joining him is Somtow Sucharitkul, Thailand’s national treasure and internationally celebrated composer and writer. His art has shaped the global view of Thai culture for decades. “Somtow’s works have been globally admired and helped promote Thai characteristics for years.” Rounding out the trio is The Siam Society, a cultural powerhouse in Thailand. Celebrated for its meticulous work documenting Thai art, culture, archaeology, and history, the Society has been a cultural bridge for over 120 years, fostering friendships between Thailand and diverse global communities. The awards, established by the Foreign Ministry and Thailand Foundation, recognise individuals and groups who promote global goodwill and friendship through cultural diplomacy. The foundation confirmed that the official award ceremony will take place in December at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported Thai PBS World. Why do some Farang worry so much about Thailand being too =hot=?
I could imagine having a brilliant long conversation in a pub with yourself, GG, and few others with lots of good ales & lagers. Now mind is going to good pubs in Britain. The most important thing it has contributed to humanity.
