who mentioned Trump? i was making the point that Biden was pushed aside kicking n screaming, desperately clinging on to the nomination. in no universe did he 'show good sense and bow out gracefully'.

I like the term "defestrated". I think I will use it repeatedly, in a holistic way.

  • If Trump loses this year, there's no way the GOP will nominate him again in 2028.  He'll be too old anyhow.  Heck, he's too old now.

  • You drank a little too much kool aid.   And the Democratic Party is the same as when Kennedy was President?

  • They are all stark raving mad. Looks like Harris will get up this election but Trump will be back for 2028.

I think the answer to your question would be obvious if you thought about it for even a few seconds and did a few more seconds of introspection and then a few more seconds talking to your buddies who plan to vote for him. If that doesn't fill in the picture for you then nothing will.

Bow out gracefully? Good sense?  Dems must live in a parallel universe

I probably shouldn't tell you this but you can find out about it yourself if you're good with a computer and know the dark web. Trump is such a threat to America and democracy a drastic plan needed to be hatched by the Dems. It was decided by Biden & Harris in the spring that if by summer Biden was trailing in the polls that they would do a switcharoo in the hopes Harris could do better. So they moved up the first debate for June when all the other first presidential debates in history had occurred in September or October. They did this because it was apparent by then that Biden would lose to Trump and maybe even by a landslide. The only way they could get public support for this was by making it look like Biden had advanced dementia and needed Harris to take over. In truth Biden is just fine but for the good of the country and to keep the ruse going he now has to act like he has late-stage dementia. Otherwise Trump would call "foul" and "it's not fair," and maybe even try another coup. Go back and look at Biden's SOTU speech in March. Biden was strong and vigorous. So much so that Trump suggested Biden was 'higher than a kite' during the speech and called for a pre-debate drug test. Do you really think a guy would go from strong and vigorous to late-stage dementia in 3 months? This 3-dimensional chess play by Biden/Harris had the added benefit of making Trump and his campaign spend hundreds of millions of dollars on ads and the GOP convention attacking Biden. That money was wasted and went down the tubes once Harris took over. So it seems at this point the drastic plan is working to a tee.

It obvious it has before the representative colour was red, now it's a vile orange...

Given that this is not the Pub forum, if you post something that is a quote from a fake news site as an 'argument' that would be a natural conclusion.

When I became old enough to vote I voted Republican in 3 straight presidential elections. In those days there was such a thing as a moderate Republican. Now the GOP would be unrecognizable to Ronald Reagan. Hopefully the GOP can return to some form of normalcy when the Trump era finally ends.

"The Trump movement is built on layers of lies. It’s late, but it’s never too late to liberate yourself from them. One word of truth outweighs the world."

Actually, President Trump, is very much a centrist/moderate.  But the Democrats are so far left he looks like a "RIGHT WINGER". 🤣 (Like being a right winger is a bad thing).

Before you do you should probably holistically assign a meaning to it as the term/word does not exist - at least not according to Google.

The 2nd best president (or course Trump is #1) had the answer:

You can fool some of the people all of the time, and all of the people some of the time, but you can not fool all of the people all of the time.”

Apart from Trumpettes.....it seems Trump, at least, can fool all of them, all of the time......sad.

Walz suggested that illegals should be issued a driver license, which is proof for voting.

Didn't know Walz was a republican

Exactly. Just go to Downtown San Francisco..   This is what demorats want for USA

The same people who demanded that you have a vaccine ID to travel are now demanding that there be no ID for voting

Yes but only for one more month. After Trump loses the second time he will likely be banished and I doubt that the majority of his supporters will stick with him. After all nobody likes a loser right?

Perhaps at that point the Republican Party can claw back some of its morality and ethics.

Anyone dumb enough to vote for these Republican clowns is getting exactly the sort of representation they deserve.

But to millions of Americans he is like a savior.

In your opinion why to so many Americans worship Trump? Is it a reflection of Americanism?

Well for one thing Trump has given people permission to be racist, he has given them permission to hate, and he has given them permission to be intolerant. I used to pride myself in thinking that I came from a nation that was one of the most tolerant in the world. I was so wrong about that.

I do understand some of the support that he has. As a centrist democrat I'm not particularly enchanted with the alternative, but I will take her over him. I would take Miley Cyrus over him,, I would take Pauly Shore over him.

Quite a few of my friends who plan to vote for Trump tell me they think he's a butt head, they think he's a racist, they think he's a hateful divider, they deplore him as a human being, they think he's a terrible example of what a man can become, but they support his policies more than the other side.

Mature, well-developed Republicans can at least admit to his defaults as a human being.

Anytime I hear anyone try describe themselves as some sort of centrist I just laugh.  That means they are probably wishy-washy enough be convinced to vote for just about anyone depending on what kind of pony someone promises them.  Kinda like libertarians.

A rather typical statement in this day and age, and very much to be expected. The idea of moderation just doesn't seem to be quite as common in politics anymore, and there's an awful lot of extremism on both sides both with the progressive liberals and with many of the Trump Republicans.

Ah yes, the both sides.  Like arsonists and firefighters.  Just two sides of the same coin.

There are no both sides when one side doesn't even want to recognize elections anymore.  More proof of how disconnected you are.

Should the Clown Trump, completely unhinged and dumb as a rock, become president, I am sure the people will regret it very much. Trump is an ignorant fool, he does not know much about how the world works.  I do not like the Dems, never have, but this time it is more serious than just GOP vs Dems. It is about sanity or insanity! The world is at a tipping point. Put Trump in he WH and all hell will break loose. Close your eyes and hold your breath and vote Harris this time. Then clean up the GOP and THEN do what the heck you want, because the mad man is gone. He will NOT be able to stand again. Seriously, did anyone actually think that was possible?? LOL! Yeah....sure....  😆

That deserved more than a mere emoji, so here you go. You obviously need a cuppa and a long lie down.

That's funny, given you are, IMO, the most extreme anti Trumper on here. You raise mere dislike to a new level of hatred.

I always have, and I'm no Republican.

Does it scare you that such people will vote for Trump, and hopefully in sufficient numbers to deny her the W H?

I'm somewhat amused that the anointed one has been lauded as so superior to Trump in every way, but she just can't poll better than him. It's going to be a close thing to the very end, IMO.

Trump Rally in Las Vegas 16 SEP 2024

You won’t have a country anymore. You’re pretty close to not having one. You better hope I get elected. You better go out. You’ll have a country back soon. ...  You’re going to end up in World War III. I am worried about nuclear because to be honest with you, we have incompetent people dealing on it. And I will keep you out of World War III. I’m the only one that’s going to be able to do it.

FDR inaugural speech  March 4, 1933

This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance.
