Had to smile 😃 when I read the stories of Thais or Tourists tarnishing the Thai tourists board of its World class  family image of Pattaya

Fighting or incidents  involving alcohol

Then we have stories of international  criminals staying in Pattaya  undercover on a regular basis mostly found out after their visas have expired😱

As the investigation continues, authorities stress the importance of vigilance in identifying foreign nationals overstaying their visas, who may also be involved in criminal activities.

Makes sense. Someone who's on the run probably avoids showing up at immigration for an extension or border run. And there's a good chance that those overstayers continue to commit crimes to fund their ongoing stay.

Maybe they should install cameras around Pattaya that scan faces and match them with the airport facial scans when they entered. Then use it to red-flag those that show up on the overstay list, if nothing else, it will deter the lowlifes from entering or living in the area.

I think that many criminals get caught because they get greedy. If they had stopped when they had stolen, say 10 million Baht, they might not have got caught. If you steal 50 million Baht, you will inevitably create attention and get caught.

That 50 million baht was stolen in Sweden, not Thailand, they just got caught because they overstayed, very dumb mistake on their part.

The duo now faces a legal battle over their alleged crimes, entwining visa violations with their suspected fraud undertakingsm reported Thai Newsroom.

Just as a matter of interest does your illegal status in thailand become legal on entering prison ?

That all depends .If you get caught for overstay you are already illegal.

If you are in jail and your visa expires you can get picked up upon release for overstay.

That has happened,if you have a competent lawyer this can be avoided.

We had a guy called Vlad drink in one of the bars I frequent on Samui. He had terrible asthma so we called him Vlad the inhaler.

Was he always pleased to see you, or was that just the inhaler in his pocket..
