Then we have stories of international  criminals staying in Pattaya  undercover on a regular basis mostly found out after their visas have expired😱

Makes sense. Someone who's on the run probably avoids showing up at immigration for an extension or border run. And there's a good chance that those overstayers continue to commit crimes to fund their ongoing stay.

Maybe they should install cameras around Pattaya that scan faces and match them with the airport facial scans when they entered. Then use it to red-flag those that show up on the overstay list, if nothing else, it will deter the lowlifes from entering or living in the area.

I think that many criminals get caught because they get greedy. If they had stopped when they had stolen, say 10 million Baht, they might not have got caught. If you steal 50 million Baht, you will inevitably create attention and get caught.

That 50 million baht was stolen in Sweden, not Thailand, they just got caught because they overstayed, very dumb mistake on their part.

That all depends .If you get caught for overstay you are already illegal.

If you are in jail and your visa expires you can get picked up upon release for overstay.

That has happened,if you have a competent lawyer this can be avoided.

Looks like increasing becoming common criminal livelihood on global scale.

Both in the East and West.

 

Some examples of common methods:

 

1-Asking for crediting money into the account(obtained in black market; e.g. bought from the homeless), pretending elders' close family members(sons, daughter).

 

2-Or contacting  strangers saying the police froze their accounts because of the criminal involvement suspicion.

 

And tell   victims  to transfer the account balance into the nominated accounts(this type often said to be happening here) to clear their names.

 

Phrase like law enforcement, court,  and  criminal allegation  function used to shut down people's brain.

 

The biggest contradiction is, Money cannot be sent out

If Accounts are Really Blocked. 

 

My English friend's mother is said to have encountered the case of fake son asking for money.

Fortunately, she noticed it was the trap.

Damages are for the court to decide how much to levy in penalties on a defendant. You don't amass damages unless yuou've been sued and lost time and time again.

Let me explain for you. If 50 million is stolen or scammed out of a number of persons, every baht they got ripped from them, is a damage to their economy and life. That is seen from the victims side. You chose to see it from the perps side, and then it would be gains.

correct, and damages are awarded by a court after losses and guilt have been established

I think they did nothing illegal in Thailand beyond visa overstay and spending some of that stolen money.

Sweden would be the country that wants to put them on trial and imprison.

This makes me think that the call center and the criminal loss of cash was commited in Sweden and that they were just busted here...  With lousy translations, it is very hard to decipher what is really being said.
