Actually I hold three citizenships, born and raised In London, UK. I'm interested in international affairs, but interested in trump's activities as they have a general impact across the Western world. IMO trump is a threat to US democracy / policies which flow through to other nations. Gaetz is disposable and Trump knows it. By suggesting Gaetz, Trump can show that he is open to  constructive criticism when the nominee is withdrawn. It is like giving a bone to the dogs. Trump may not have a Senate as easy to push around as hoped. The refusal to accept Scott as Senate leader sent a subtle message.

 

The gloaters here  should study history. Nixon was very popular in 1972. He could do no wrong and won a landslide victory.  A year later, the press, both Conservative and Moderate had turned on him and he had become a pariah. The 1974 election saw the Democratics roar back taking House and Senate seats from the Republicans.  2 years is a short time and American voters are a angry and resentful.

Yes, I think it ironic that Biden called Trump a fascist, a dictator and claimed his election would be the end of democracy in the US. Now, Biden congratulates Trump and promises to help all he could to help all he can with the transition.

Not my economic analysis. Naturally the economy took a while to recover and stabilise after Covid which is now happening. Unsure how much government can actually achieve on controlling consumer costs other than policies lowering inflation, But should trump increase tariffs consumer costs will increase.
