  • When you get very old you can re-watch stuff from a month ago and have no idea that you have seen it before.

  • Wednesday......... is back, if you (or your kids have any  interest )   4 episodes out now ---4 episodes out in September

I did mention 4 eps out, so obviously referring to S2.   Anyone not heard of it would obviously search IMDB maybe and realize it's S2 also.

Task...........................HBO

It has probably been mentioned---as its on its 5 episode out of 7  ( so sorry if I missed)---IMDB give it a high rating 7.8 . I watched the first 2 episodes and thought it is a  good watch.

No spoilers--- 2 rubbish collectors by day (we use to call them dustmen) Hit drug houses on their run, at night--to steal their drug money.

Finish EP 5 this is as good as it they say. Keep thinking of the one bad review I read here. Have the poster on ignore now.

Annika S02....thought this was rubbish compared to season 1....why the hell is she talking gibberish to the camera at times.....I don`t get it?

I'm trying to get through "Black Rabbit" but it's gotten so ridiculous it's thought to get back to.

It would help if all the characters weren't so horrible

A couple of recent action movies for anyone who might be interested: Striking Rescue, which stars Tony Jaa. Remember him? I don't think I've seen a movie of his since he flamed out with that Medieval Cambodian epic but I have to say he is back to form in in this. He plays a man out for revenge against the kingpin who murdered his wife and daughter but ends up as the inadvertant protector of the man's daughter when he rescues her from a kidnapping. The movie itself isn't that great but the action scenes are the old-style Tony Jaa with lots of Muay Thai.

Prisoner of War: This is a Scott Adkins film, who has been making b-level martial action films for years now. This is one of his better ones though, as he is taken prisoner during World War II by the Japanese and is forced to fight the prison guards skilled in karate to survive. A hackneyed plot but it gives Adkins the chance to really show off his martial arts skills.

Watched the first episode of Néro the Assassin   Last night,   it seems to be......

Much anticipated 1990's era gay / U.S Marines themed dramedy BOOTS called the best tv series of the season by USA Today is finally out.

Because it was so over hyped, I found episode 1 not quite living up to my unreasonably high expectations, but I'll still definitely watch the series.

The main character is a gay kid and the story starts with him and his best (and only) friend (a straight guy) both shipping off to Parris Island Marines Boot Camp.

I suppose of special interest to those who have been to boot camp especially Marines (thank you for your service) and of course gay guys who were treated shabbily during their schooldays.

Historical note -- In 1990 it was against the rules to be gay in the U.S. military meaning being discovered would lead to dishonorable discharge. No spoilers as I don't know but I'm assuming that issue will probably come up in this story. The Clinton era "Don't ask don't tell policy" which made it somewhat better for gay soldiers didn't start until 1994.

Thank you, Henk.  Watched E1 last night.

I don’t think anyone mentioned The Three-Body Problem before. Cixin Liu, China’s first science-fiction author wrote a trilogy of books called Remembrance of Earth’s Past: The Three-Body Problem (2006), The Dark Forest (2008), and Death’s End (2010). IMO, all are must-read.

In 2024, Netflix released an eight-episode series, 3 Body Problem by the directors of Game of Thrones. It’s pretty good but not as good as the books. Renewed for a second season.

However, in 2023, China’s National Television produced a 30-episode series, Three-Body. It’s free to torrent at Archive.org. I think it’s awesome! Enjoy!

Dead to Me and Six Feet Under are awesome TV. Look 'em up. The latter has Dexter as a gay undertaker.

Yes, it's been mentioned before. Great Series, the Chinese version I mean, never tried the Netflix, probably just a weak adoption ...

I've just finished season 1 of The Hack and it was very good IMHO. It was recommended by @Bacon1 earlier in this topic. The complete season 1 pack is on TheRARBG.

A short while ago somebody mentioned the film "Withnail and I" and said it was good, so I downloaded it and have just watched it......my verdict is that it was a very average movie with no laughs or comedy in it and  I am wondering how I can get back my lost 95 miutes!!

Peacemaker season 2 just popped up on my radar so thought i would give it a go.

Not having watched the movie The Suicide Squad it straight away recommended I watched that to get the context, so I did.

Not being a big fan of Marvel and DC etc I was a bit apprehensive but both SS and Peacemaker are very much dark comedy with Idris Elba and John Cena in the lead roles.

Just started Peacemaker and loving it, not everyone’s cup of tea for sure but I would say if you liked The Boys you will love Peacemaker ( Suicide Squad was okay also )

One of those cult movies ( meaning some will hate it, others will love it ) which I have never watched.

Seen a few clips on FB and not been enthusiastic to follow up with the whole movie.

Seems to me that the two main characters are miscast, put Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson in there and I would be all over it.

Murder Before Evensong is a British crime drama television series adapted from the novel of the same name by Reverend Richard Coles - Good cast, like a mix of Grantchester and Midsomer

The British crime thriller television series Frauds, starring Suranne Jones and Jodie Whittaker - a little of Thelma and Louise

Both very watchable.

I first watched it just after I left school so maybe have a different perspective. It was one of those films that was 'cool to like' at the time. We did go through a phase of 'Cider & Ice' for a while but never had it again until I came to Thailand 🙃

Going to rewatch, this time with my boy:

The Scanner Darkly

Rocknrolla

American Ultra

Why do none of these have sequels?

Finally got around to watching Severance, which just won a bunch of awards I believe. Probably not for everyone, but I like it. Rated 8.4 on tmdb. Probably classed as sci-fi. Somewhat complex so might not be liked by some on here. 2 seasons, 9+10 episodes everywhere I would imagine.
