Weed or Cigarettes? Which would you rather have?

Featured Replies

As of now, 20 grams of good weed in Thailand costs the same as a pack of cigarettes.

A pack of cigarettes, which contains about 20 grams of tobacco, sells for an average price of around ฿140 in Thailand for Marlboro and other popular Western brands.

Meanwhile, you can buy 20 grams of good weed at ฿7 per gram, totaling ฿140. In fact, you can even find decent weed for as low as ฿5 per gram, making 20 grams cost even less.

So, which would you rather have?

I'll pass on both.

Weed.  I used weed as a substitute to ween off cigarettes back in the day.  Cigarettes (nicotine) is highly addictive.  As an ex-smoker, I'd personally like to see all nicotine products banned.

Fyi.  Once I kicked cigarettes I pretty much quit smoking pot.  After college I was pretty much only a social pot smoker.  Now I just don't care for it. Doesn't have the same affect as it did when I was younger.

Now smoke 0.5g of high Indica hybrid in their place once an evening. No joint pain for the past 4 years, and all the swelling has gone.

I wouldn't have believed it, if someone had told me!

That's how I quit cigs too. Put it in joints for a year but wasn't smoking cigarettes. Then just one day stopped putting it I.  Worked great.

Ever thought about taking a week off from smoking weed to see how you feel? Not suggesting you stop if you enjoy it, but it could help you figure out if the joint pain might have cleared up on its own earlier and whether the relief is unrelated to cannabis use. Honestly, it sounds like it could possibly be a placebo effect.

It sounds strange, but I see lots of people in Thailand doing the opposite. They aren’t cigarette smokers, but they add tobacco to the weed to make it less potent when they are rolling up a joint. This way they can smoke through a whole 1g joint without getting too zooted. I guess they figure it’s better than only smoking half a joint of pure cannabis and then having to keep the rest for later.

3 days and the pain starts creeping back, but no joint swelling in that time.

Personally, I would never do it. I don’t smoke joints to begin with, nor would I want to consume a carcinogenic substance like tobacco. But lots of people do it in Thailand. Even with bongs.

To me, it’s like putting ice in your beer, which is something else you see quite often in Thailand.

So you’ve tried taking a break? That’s interesting you get that kind of relief from cannabis because you are feeling pain-free 24 hours a day, but yet the half-life of THC and CBD in the body is usually no more than about 6 hours.

That's not how NSAIDs work.

Bordering on causing liver damage. Need to be very careful with such high regular daily doses.

No need for either - currently, just take deep breaths outside and you'll inhale the equivalent.

You are sure of that? And what about alcohol?

Arthritis in fingers doesn't go away by itself.

Anti inflammation drugs help and weed definitely has a positive effect somehow.

I have a couple nice truffles about 6pm each evening, my rheumatoid arthritis pain is not a problem now and sleep improves.

From my own experience, cheaper and better than anti-inflammatory drugs

Then you did it the wrong way and I don't mean this as a diss, but rather as a matter of fact. My guess is you used sheer will power? Alan Carr's book made it very easy for me. Although, it was easy in hindsight, but going through it was nowhere nearly as bad as I made it out to be in my head beforehand. The most difficult part for me was to set a point in time and stick with it the few times I tried it before I've read Carr's book.

Why is this even a question when the answer is sooooo obvious? All cigarettes do is cost you money, f.ck up your health and make tou smell of cigarette stench.  Even if you don't get the cancer you will definitely get emphysema, and if you don't stop in time this will severely affect your life later down the road.

Weed gets you high and you can turn it into edibles, which will entirely circumvent the issues accossiated with smoking. Having said that, you could get nicotine gums as well, but they don't give you the nice high you get from weed.

And Non-Steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs are harmful to the kidneys!
