In a controversial move, Thailand has secretly deported 40 Uyghur detainees to China after holding them for nearly 11 years. This deportation, confirmed by Defence Minister Phumtham Wechayachai, has prompted global outrage amid allegations of human rights violations.

Disgusting government.

Thailand should be publicly kicked out of the UNCHR immediately

Thailand has been elected as a Member of the Human Rights Council (UNHRC) for a 3 year term, beginning 1 January 2025. Termination of that membership, taking effect immediately, would seem approp

Oh boy this one is a doozy. Not gonna go well. Those people can be killed and organ harvested, yes really. Whats next? They gonna deport the Iranians at IDC back to Iran to face their persecutions too? There are multiple asylum refugees in Thailand, including I heard a Chinese guy at IDC shows been there like 14 years or some shyt... He next?

Thailand is real good at kicking people out of the country on whims, or based on the politicking at the time.

One of them must of had the right blood type, and a perfect match for a Chinese government official for organ harvesting.

Not sure what you would call a country that condones such a thing. Guess you would call it Thailand!

Thailand now is in dire need of a "Taxi Driver Returns Wallet to Tourist" story.

i've not seen any "global outrage".. why is there no "global outrage" about the 2 MILLION Afghan refugees being thrown out of Iran - fellow Muslims.. and I read a similar number are being thrown out of Pakistan.. maybe it is because "outrage" only applies when it is a European country kicking illegal criminal immigrants out ?

Thailand is very good at covering up their terrible record on human rights - for many refugees it is simply a case of out of the frying pan into the fire.

Thailand must provide explanations and guarantee the safety of those deported. The international community waits to witness how Thailand addresses the fallout from this controversial decision, reported The Thaiger.

Their reasons are simple... They need the room for all the foreigner tourists making trouble and all the illegals being caught.

Or they wanted to appease China so they help increase tourism to Thailand and make Thailand appear to be safe from kidnappings and forced labor.

China is the big bear...

And Thailand will safeguard it's own interests first... (look into the past history of Thailand or Siam)...

hmm...   Thailand playing China's puppet again...

In July 2015 The Thai government forcibly deported nearly 100 Uyghurs to China and that led to  to international criticism.

The World Uyghur Congress (WUC) claimed that at least 25 Uyghur men were killed while resisting deportation.

The Thai government denied these allegations, and the WUC later removed the claim from its statement. The news was 'somehow' kept extremely quiet, even shut down...

Stories have since surfaced from time to time that of those (Military) who were there while this happened described events of far greater atrocity than the those claimed by the WUC...

Apparently - Tear Gas was thrown into the transport lorries of the Uyghur who were being transported to the 'repatriation aircraft'... those who fled the truck (to avoid the tear-gas') were shot.... Women and children were in a different truck and all survived...

>>  This is the rumour, whether true or not remains to be seen, all news information which stated this was deleted within a few days of the event....    its perhaps 'dangerous to discuss'...

"Thailand playing China's puppet again."

How can you expect differently ? They are Sino-Thai. It is always claimed they have become real Thai, but that's far from true.  Their roots, ancestors are from China, they will always act and decide to China's wishes, standards and you see it everywhere in Thailand. She was even proud on her Chinese roots recently, made it public. Can you imagine what that means ?

What would you expect from the Shinawatras? Thaksin is a close mate of Hun Sen. Would you expect the former small time drug user shooter to have any concern for embattled minorities?

It's not that China wants them back ,it's that Thailand does not want them. Look at the mess Europe is in with Muslim fanatics hiding behind human rights laws.

this stinks.  Thailand has a horrible human rights record. at the same time it tolerates a lot of "quality" tourist.  Thailand bending over to Big Brother to the North.

It's okay they will have a little pray at the temple rub the amulet and declare it forgotten 🤔

Thailand is counting on it becoming yesterdays news on Saturday....and they are probably right.

I doubt the community is very interested. After a few days this incident is forgotten. Thailand is also not important. Not a big player in international politics but to have very, very good relations with China.

Thailand does not believe in refugee status when it comes to China whatever China wants Thailand follows TIT

I believe that this is a very dangerous decision by Thailand.  Who remembers the 2015 bomb in Bangkok, which many have suggested was 'pay-back' for the deportation of 100 or so Uyghur refugees.

If that were the reason for the 2015 bombing, then I suggest we all avoid crowded places in Thailand, especially those popular with Chinese....

  • Popular Post

Sadly, this sort of treatment of legitimate refugees is becoming commonplace emboldened by the policies of some of the world’s more powerful countries who turn a blind eye to it.
This is a shameful act as these people were knowingly sent back to China to face horrible reprisals with no effort of repatriation to a third country willing to take them. The world is turning to sh!t. Thailand is not Robinson Crusoe when it comes to this sort of kowtowing to more powerful countries. These people are being hung out to dry just like what is happening to 40 million Ukrainians.
Shameless kowtowing to the world’s despots.

This is a disgusting behavior by Thai Government and show only how little they care about human life and suffering! These people are probably ending up in a camp and will be "disappeared" or harvested for human organs! Congratulation Thailand! 😣

Seems Taksin will do anything to make his Chinese masters happy.

Thailand a Buddhist country?  In name only!!

Bowing down to the heinous and toxic Masters! There is no doubt that these people being deported are in for a world of hurt. As much as Xi and China  tries to deny it, we know what they're up to. And it's no good.

This is definitely a boil on the face of Thailand and it shows just where the heart and soul of this young PM, the elites here, and her father is. And it's a very very ugly place.

The shame of Thailand.... It shows how Thai Government has no Human Right policy and should be removed out of the organization. Thailand claims they protect people, but look around in prisons, refugees from Myanmar and now this Uygur deportation. Maybe there should be some economic sanctions to Thailand be made... When it cost them money Thailand will change their attitudes

The deportations have made world headlines , and a report from the BBC world.   It is unbelievable that these innocent people were locked up for 11 years and refused legal protection from prominent lawyers, only then to be secretly deported to a country where they will suffer again in even worse conditions. Forced to work like slaves in China. There will be an international backlash . It is considered a crime against humanity.

Thailand will regret this decision these people are persecuted by the Chinese Regime I wouldn’t be surprised if some countries like the USA announced certain sanctions against the country !

Disgusting ! But I don’t suppose they care about their International Reputation.

All thais care about is money. Simple 🤷🏼

So are we to expect another bombing campaign like in 2015 when they did the same type of deportations and several bombs were detonated in Thailand including the erawan shrine bomb which left 20 dead and 125 injured... thai government has the memory of a goldfish

Well...

After discussion with the PM, Xi agreed to stop calling Thailand "Our little Taiguo"

in exchange for these folks.

Sadly, Uyghur are persecuted in China. And many want to flee just to find better lives. Thailand had a chance to be better, but in true Thai fashion keeled to their Chinese overlords. Surprised they held out for 10 years, but seeing as all Thailand did has detain (imprison) them, China simply had Thailand on a longer leash than usual. But kneel they did. In the dark of night to hide their shame.

I wonder if they got around to fixing CCTV near Erawan Shrine & other sacred spots.... Recall 2015 and reaction after shipping that load of refugees back to certain prison or death.
