Yeah, well, the Zionist Israelis for sure! After 32 years living in Thailand I've certainly noted more negative  issues cropping up with Israelis than Thai transgenders. Back in 1989 the Thai guest house I stayed at on Khao Sarn Rd was always "full" when an Israeli asked if there were any rooms available. They didn't want to deal with the hassle that they were pretty sure would come. Thailand being one of the few SE Asian countries to let Israelis in means a lot of the riff-raff come here.

As for this skirmish at Phuket I'm surmising  that an Israeli said and/or did something disrespectful to a transgender who maybe already on edge given  some farang attitudes towards this type of person (just read some of the comments on this thread!). Sure I get catcalls from  ladyboys sometimes but pass it off in good humor -never give back a nasty retort or get physically violent.

Not sure if you read the article or not. You know, the bit which describes what actually happened, rather than your surmising what didn’t happen.

I was in Phuket last year and the island is now one big garbage heap, people seem to keep on traveling to Phuket but it was such a pale shadow of what it was when I was last there 10 years ago. It was

Oh I read it alright but knowing how things "get reported" is typically is not what really happened and/or is propaganda. I guess you're the type of person who believes EVERYTHING you read in a newspaper. yaaaawnnnnnn

Not sure why so much emphasis on it being Israelis. The dispute was between local ladies and wannabe ladies. Two tourists tried to help out and got clattered for their sins.

it’s nice to try and help people, but the height of stupidity in Thailand. Not only are you likely to come off worst, but also you’ll be in a headline that implies blame on your part.

They are Israelis and Anti Semites need someone to bash and attack .

They don't even seem to read the thread, they just see "Israeli" in the thread title and go full on anti semitic in their posts

I crossed the place off my list in 2008.

I suspect even those who live in a nice place there long term, who  know the places where tourists never get to are now suffering from what's happened over the last couple of years.

No.

Antisemitic Thai transsexuals strike again.

Antisemitism is not synonymous with dislike of Israel.

They always mention nationality so we don't all get lumped together as merely foreigners. A little discrimination goes a long way here.

They have been here since the 14th century, a lot longer than you have, and are part of Thai culture. Get over it. How about you don't come here, then your narrow mind won't be so offended. Better option for everyone.

First "If you don't like it here you should go back to your own country" post I've seen in days. It isn't your country, yet tell the poster he's not welcome here. You don't have to seek these people out, you can't stroll along Walking Street or Beach Road Pattaya without being bothered by them. They're also often involved in gang fights. No bigotry involved in the original post, just good sense.

Supposedly, this was all ignited when the tourists were caught trying on the victims lingerie and the transgenders were just defending themselves from the thieves.

Phuket's bustling Bangla Road witnessed a skirmish involving two Israeli tourists and a group of transgender women, resulting in injuries on both sides. The altercation, captured on video and shared widely, erupted on March 5 in the nightlife hotspot.

The conflict began over accusations of client-stealing between a few transgender women and two Thai women. As the Israeli tourists attempted to intervene, they became embroiled in the dispute. The footage shows the tourists fleeing as the situation escalated, pursued by the transgender group.

Emergency services responded swiftly, with the injured tourists treated at Patong Hospital. Local authorities were able to identify three of the transgender participants: Suwicha, 20, Apisit, 28, and Siwapoom, 29. All involved face charges of disturbing public order, carrying potential fines of up to 5,000 baht each.

In response to this and similar incidents, the Israeli Embassy in Thailand has urged its citizens to exercise caution. Recently issued guidelines strive to maintain cordial relations and advise Israeli tourists on how to navigate their visits to Thailand respectfully.

Highlighting the importance of preserving the positive relationship between Israeli visitors and the Thai population, the embassy's statement encouraged travelers to adhere to local norms and enjoy their stay peacefully, ensuring such occurrences do not tarnish the reputation of the Israeli tourist community in Thailand, reported The Thaiger.

Why? Why? Why? Why are people unable to control their urges to intervene in other people's business. Of all things to get involved in, an all Thai squable about client-stealing. In the video, the Israel tourist looked like an idiot running around like a chicken with it's head cut off. The Israeli emabassy urges their citizens to use caution. How about asking their citizens to use some common sense? I guess that's a big ask, common sense is not that common.

…reported The Thaiger. Don’t take it as investigative journalism.
