Krabi – A 26-year-old Welshman, who was recently reported missing on Koh Phi Phi by British media, has been found safe in a hotel in Krabi. Contrary to earlier reports, he never was on Koh Phi Phi. It appears he avoided contact due to personal issues at home.

Mr Daniel had been out of touch with his family since mid-March, leading to reports that he might have vanished on Koh Phi Phi, Krabi. Local police and immigration officers launched a search, checking every hotel on the island but found no record of him staying there.

However, authorities located him today at 3 p.m. at a hotel on Maharaj Road in Krabi Town. Immigration and tourism officials confirmed Mr Daniel is alive and well, having checked into the hotel alone.

Though unharmed, Mr Daniel has been reluctant to speak with officials. Initial inquiries suggest he might have felt upset with his family, telling friends he did not wish to return home. Details of any underlying issues remain unclear.

Records show that Daniel arrived in Krabi Province on 22 February 2023 and had been staying in various hotels around Krabi Town, never actually visiting Koh Phi Phi as previously suggested. His most recent hotel check-in was on 22 March.

Immigration police have documented the case and plan to inform the embassy, which will update his family.

He might not want to go home, but at his age he will have little or no savings, and no job.

His stay in Thailand will be difficult without the correct visa or income.

Where does it say he has no money, for all we know at 26 he's got a trust fund, or had a huge inheritance.

Sounds like a control freak at home he wants to get free from and wanted some time to think a chill out.

Something suspicious about this.

What's he hiding?

The cops better scrutinise this one well.

How do you think they found him and know he'd been in various other hotels in krabi?

Reporting a missing child of 11 years or under is a high priority. Reporting a missing 26 year old baby adult is not. What a waste of resources.  Looking at his appearance, he coulld go far with his good looks but instead likes to play the family issues victim.

There have been at least 5 of these recently.  20-50yr olds gone 'missing', all turned up and it was just over reactive family. We used to go weeks without calling home, that was the whole point of going back packing.

26 yo and needs to "Ghost" his familly like a 16yo? its appalling  how immature most younger adults are nowdays. Life's gonna be rough for them.....

The family and/or him should contribute to the xmas fund for wasting valuable resources who were looking for him.

Hmmmm..... you might be right, but you also might be wrong. Ever heard of digital nomads? Maybe a person that know how to trade. A crypto currency expert..... The list can be long. Adding Amazon drop shipping and affiliate sites within gambling and loans.

How is he playing the victim here?  He just wants to be left alone and make his own decisions.

He may just have been captivated as we all were when young with the Thailand scene, and the story about family issues is he might not want a dose of reality from them, whilst he's living his dream.

I mean, snow forecast for UK, who wants that in April, when you have Thailand, Tom Yam soup, Singha beer and women on draft.

They don't grow up like we had to, way too much mollycoddling from parents and the system in the UK.

Everyone gets stress related time off from work, just for ' being offended '

No wonder so many are useless.

It doesn't look that way by his CHOICE OF ACCOMMODATION.

Mind you, we never know, he might just be playing it cool.

The article said authorities went from hotel to hotel checking on Phi Phi Island

Apparently TM 30 did not work on PP Island

Yeah.

In related news:

Welsh family has been in contact  with their son through the British embassy asking him to disappear or get injured as their gofund me campaign is just getting off the ground.

Have you never heard of responsible behaviour, especially when away from home

This is just weird, his family could be toxic for all you know, jumping to assumptions. If he wants no contact with his family then that's his choice he's 26 and not asking for anything and probably annoyed at being tracked down by the police for no reason

26 not 16... could be a dropshipping millionaire, lottery winner, just have a remote job etc. He could be on a DTV. You have no idea of his situation.

Sure, the guy might not be very social, and might not like his family. That could be seen as bad behavior. Sure! Still does not take away his freedom to chose as an adult.
