You might want to do a simple AI search like: Compare Kamala Harris use of English to Donald Trumps.

Her use of and command of the English language is more sophisticated that Trumps.

A great many Trump followers cannot understand elevated and sophisticated English and then conclude it is nonsense or "word salad".

Here ya go, for your reference:

I had written off Donald Trump as anyone I'd every vote into office of the President after listening to about 15 minutes worth of his speeches and interviews. To anyone with a higher education it's pretty obvious that his language is simple, self focused (uses the world "I" much more) exaggerates and uses hyperbole ALOT! and toots his own horn all the time. Just a simpleton under-qualified individual.

Didn't do Harris much good, did it?

That's not the point. The point is she is, without a doubt, smarter than Trump and more qualified to represent the USA.

Hey Hitler made it to the top of Politics for awhile in Germany, that doesn't make it right does it?

Trumps low vacab ratings seem not to affect his brilliant successes to date and the scorching pace he's achieving it. Perhaps nobody really cares about Trumps vacab except the envious losers, democrats, but be sure to compile a list of Trumps activities underlying his immense successes to date.iin closing, remember Biden struggling to read from a teleprompter, from his cue cards and why was he allowed NOT TO SPEAK on so many occasions, was it because his brains were fried like an egg, stuck to the frying pan? Absolutely that was the case. so you should all go clean your underwear from any accidents you incurred reading Trumps vocab assessment, and then see about getting your head examined for signs of electrical activity.

The "what-aboutism" is strong with this one.

For starters, how about roughly 44 million people are now enrolled in health coverage through the Affordable Care Act aka Obamacare, according to a KFF analysis.

Trump lovers won’t have it, but it is proper cringe when he speaks today. If you go back to some 80s footage, he used to do quite well and had a half decent vocabulary, sans all that ‘America is the best’ nonsense. Aside from his diabolical, limited  wordiness today, we also have social media, so whatever he is thinking is immediately put out there. Most recent, the warnings to Iran and Russia. So cringe. I mean, did his great grandson get hold of his phone, or what!

It's been well documented that he loves the uneducated, and they love him back cuz he speaks at their level.

Wouldn’t go comparing Hitler to any of the people representing America of late. Ok, he turned out to be a nut and I don’t advocate natzism, but he was super smart and very well read. Last US president anywhere near him was probably Carter then JFK before him, the latter being particularly brilliant. But from the 1980s-90s onwards… hmm. Trump is the icing on the cake. Compared to the above; well, one can’t really do that. Put it this way, he is akin to one of them belligerent ten-a-penny fat mouthy kids in the playground that everybody had to endure.

Many MAGA guys here just don't get simple logic. Maybe you are not one, but I am NOT comparing Trump to Hitler.

I am making an argument and it goes like this:

I am replying to a post that is basically saying that since Trump won the last election he is smarter and more qualified that Kamala Harris.  This is not sound logic AT ALL!

Just because somebody wins and election. DOES NOT MEAN THEY ARE  MORE QUALIFIED FOR  THE JOB than their opponent.

Kamala Harris, without a doubt has a better command of the English Language, Trump on the other hand has been clocked, in interviews, to have a command of English at a 4th grade level or lower!

Who is smarter? Obviously Harris at least when it comes to using English and her stellar work record as a CA public servant. Trumps record as president is one of the worst in history. Although if you watch the obviosly right-wing Fux News, they will have you believe otherwise buy their total BS spin on anything Trump and conservative politics.

Face it. Trump does not have the best interest of the American people at heart. He's interested, as he's always been, in serving himself. He's a businessman, plain and simple, and not a very good one at that.

4th grade?  That high?  And his IQ?

Trumps a legend

yes but a minor one.  There have been some real 'legends' in American history.  Did Trump unseat one of your previous favorite 'legend's?  Was it Charlie "Lucky" Luciano, or Al Capone or Carlo Gambino?

Recent analyses of presidential language consistently show that Donald Trump uses language at a lower grade level compared to most other recent presidents, including Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush.1

Here's a breakdown of common findings:

Donald Trump:

  • Consistently lower: Multiple studies, including those using the Flesch-Kincaid readability test, have found Trump's spoken and written language (excluding social media) to be at a remarkably low grade level, often in the 3rd to 7th grade range. Some analyses even placed him at a 4th-grade level or below.
  • Simplicity and directness: His language is characterized by a significantly simpler and less diverse vocabulary and grammatical structure than his predecessors. He often uses shorter sentences, repetition, and intensifiers, which contributes to this lower readability score.
  • Strategic vs. inherent: While some suggest his simple language is a deliberate rhetorical strategy to connect with a wider audience and mirror average conversations, others point to it as an inherent characteristic of his speaking style.

George W. Bush:

  • Varied, but generally higher than Trump: George W. Bush's language analysis results vary depending on the specific speech or test used. Some analyses place his State of the Union addresses around a 9th or 10th-grade level. However, one specific study noted his grammar during campaign speeches as being at a 5th-grade level, which was even below Trump's in that particular analysis. Generally, his vocabulary in campaign speeches was considered to be at least an 8th-grade level.

Joe Biden:

  • Higher than Trump, comparable to Bushes: Analyses of Joe Biden's language generally place him at a higher grade level than Donald Trump. For example, some studies found his language in debates or news conferences to be around the 4th to 7th grade level, which is comparable to or slightly higher than George W. Bush's scores in similar contexts.
  • Accessible but not overly simplistic: While aiming for plain language to reach a broad audience, Biden's speeches tend to be more complex than Trump's. His victory speech in 2020, for instance, scored around a 6.3 Flesch-Kincaid level, indicating easy accessibility for the general public.4

Barack Obama:

  • Mid-to-high range among recent presidents: Obama's language is generally found to be more sophisticated than Trump's and often slightly higher than George W. Bush's. His State of the Union addresses have been analyzed as being around an 8th to 9th grade reading level.5
  • Intentional clarity: While capable of complex language, Obama was noted for intentionally keeping his public speeches clear and accessible, often using succinct sentences and shorter words, particularly in State of the Union addresses, to ensure broad comprehension.

Overall Trends:

  • Decline in complexity: There's a general trend of decreasing linguistic complexity in presidential speeches over time, with modern presidents generally using simpler language than historical figures like Abraham Lincoln (who often spoke at an 11th-grade level or higher).6
  • Audience connection: The move towards simpler language is often attributed to a desire to connect with a broader, more diverse audience in an era of mass media and direct communication.

In summary, Donald Trump's language stands out for its particularly low grade-level readability, consistently ranking below his recent predecessors like Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and George W. Bush, who generally operate within a more moderate range of linguistic complexity for public discourse.7

Well, it's not only his language. Look at his behaviour. 3rd class manners actually.

A disgrace for at least America. Is he the best America can offer? Horrible if it's true.

Kinda expected our resident trump supporters would jump all over this to protect their SIELF ESTEEM for being suckers.anyway personally I think all presidents talk down a bit to reach a wider audience.

Which is in itself thought provoking that one has to speak at the level of a 4th grader to be understood, perhaps more money should be spent on education.

It is just one of the many consequences of selecting a man with an IQ of 89, one who does not have the ability to negotiate, and one who has no diplomatic skills whatsoever.

Trump may be the 2nd worst president in history.

For a native speaker of the American dialect, spawned from the bastard child of the Empire, his grasp of the English language is quite impressive.

Of course this leaves the question hanging in the air - in your opinion, who's the worst?

Likely Buchanan or Harrison.

Not likely, Trump has just abolished the Federal Education department.

He likes the poor and dumb. He hates anyone smarter than him.

Biden's English may have been higher but only on the rare occasions he actually made any sense and I think those times someone else was actually talking.
