Read it and weep Trump haters.

They are crying too hard about the stock market hitting a new high after guaranteeing us it's all going to Hades in a handbasket thanks to his beautiful tariffs. Another great victory, thanks supreme court, just shows common sense still sometimes prevails

Stunning victory - absolute crushing blow to the leftist activist judges.

This is a significant win for the Trump administration and the president.

Nationwide injunctions on Donald Trump’s blizzard of executive orders have angered him and frustrated his agenda.

And while these injunctions are not being removed entirely, their scope is being significantly limited. It will be harder for individuals and groups to prevent controversial policies such as the ending of birthright citizenship from being enforced.

Importantly though, the challenges to these policies will still proceed through the courts, potentially right up to the Supreme Court – and the merits or constitutionality of each case is a separate question to what’s been decided today.

In truth, this is an issue that administrations of both complexions have complained about, so expect Republicans to see this as a double-edged sword.

When and if a Democrat enters the White House, they will enjoy the same legal advantages as Donald Trump will now make the most of. There will also be much more work for lawyers – and who’s not in favour of that!

I don't have time just now - go read the utter destruction of Justice Jackson - she's been called out continually including a line about not wanting to read "boring legalese."

Stunning stuff from the Supreme Court today, just magnificent.

Got the gig due to skin color and that she's sitting on a fur purse. DEI is the worst leftist idea since open borders, free medical care and universal basic income.

Market is stabilizing = almost at or above all time highs. Remember when it dropped all the chitty chatter on here.

Still, the Supreme Court ruling will not take effect for 30 days. And the justices laid out a potential path for challengers, saying that district court judges could consider whether to take up class-action suits seeking to bar enforcement of the executive order on a statewide, regional or even national basis.

Indeed, groups challenging the executive order immediately seized on that opening, with class-action filings in Maryland and New Hampshire. Other challengers are likely to do the same in the coming days. ...

Legal experts predicted that the ruling was likely to set off a flood of individual lawsuits and requests for class actions in other matters, with the ultimate impact on the Trump agenda unclear. Regardless, they said it would leave the power of the presidency greatly expanded.

Death blow to criminal left's lawfare menacing. This is another illustration of how the left pushes things too far to their own demise, only if they used finesse and applied foresight they would still have lawfare in their toolbox, though no doubt the some of those criminal leftists district judges are going to continue to try to hack at the law and continue to make complete fools of themselves.
Now it’s peddle to the metal for the administration.

Note this is from the MAY 15 oral arguments on the birthright case:

Kavanaugh, a key vote, suggests class-action lawsuits instead

Kavanaugh, a member of the conservative wing who sometimes sides with the liberals, suggested that class-action lawsuits would suffice for allowing the challengers to Trump’s executive order to get broad relief from the courts. He brushed away the suggestion from challengers that relying on class certification as a tool raises many of the same issues as nationwide injunctions the president is complaining about.

It’s a technical point, Kavanaugh acknowledged, but a potentially important one. Part of what Kavanaugh seemed to be saying was that there was another way for the groups challenging Trump to quickly shut down the order. It might be more challenging and take more time, but, he said, it would be more consistent with the way courts normally work.

“We care about the technicalities,” Kavanaugh said at one point.

A few years ago it was as right activist judges.

This is what happens with a 2 party system and judges appointed based on politics.

So, class actions should be treated as class actions, great!

Tariffs were not cancelled, those that have already been signed brought in 22b in May alone.

That's question number 1 for the day.

Sorry, fixed it.

As I understand it this ruling only prevents federal judges from issuing nationwide restrictions.

State by state restrictions will continue unimpeded where cases are brought and granted.

I wonder if this decision was in response to Judge Murphy decision to try to disrespect the first decision of the Scotus. That being said we know where they/ thems gets their talking points from in regards to giving criminal illegals due process!

Grok: Talking about the nation wide injunction .

“The court’s liberal justices, led by Justice Sonia Sotomayor, dissented, arguing the decision rewarded the administration’s "lawlessness" and eroded due process”.

I believe it limits it to the individuals named in the suits, but I am not sure.

I would happily defer to @jerrymahoney

This brings an end to judge shopping. Leftist activist federal district court judges just got smacked by Trump and SCOTUS. Completely insane that a single person in a position of judicial authority with an activist agenda is allowed to rule on anything IMHO let alone be able to bring a halt to implementing national government policy. Whatever happened to the law is blind.
