Many years ago I had a cousin that was married to a guy in the garment industry. They holidayed in Sri Lanka it was a work and vacation thing..

 

Americans are not big tea drinkers but she did notice upon visiting a factory that packaged for Lipton that it was not only the worst tea that went into the bags but it was the worst part of the tea leaves. Basically, the trash

Big c here in Phuket have pg tip Yorkshire and typhoo plus Twinning and a few specialty teas

Go online Villa also carry Taylors

Red Label is the same as the Tesco Value Red Label we always used in the UK, same taste as PG tips but cheaper. For the last 10 years we got used to finding the work-arounds one needs in LOS!

Found anyway a tea i used before when living in Thailand ...a local tea named Oolong tea , has a nice taste and flavor , it satisfies me , as non Brit my life and choises are more easy ...😁

For the British teas there are some alternatives (from Sri Lanka I think) in Gourmet which are a fair bit cheaper than Twinings and a ton better than Liptons.

I drink Taylor's Yorkshire Tea, grown in Ceylon, and brought to me by all my friends who visit me here in Siam from England. Lipton's is rubbish, Twining is well overpriced. Typhoo was the favourite for many years, but went bust a year or so back. What happened to Brooke Bond?

I buy in Marks and Spencer’s as I like their decaf tea. Bring loads with me, and ask friends to bring for me too. M&S is expensive in Thailand tho. I bought some in Central Festival.

The shop opposite Jomtien bus station, Foodmarket, Second road, has a lot of  different tea brands, including Lipton, at least two days ago. They also have much other Western food like English ham and so on. Pantry, further down on the same street, just opposite where the bahtbuses turn down to Jomtien Beach Road also have much Western food. Otherwise Lazada is a good choise. They delivere normally within  3 days.

A teapot - how very quaint. We use tea bags (which have been around for over 100 years) because they are convenient and efficient and tea strainers are not capable of retaining smaller leaf particles. One can put a few tea bags in one's pocket when on picnic outings, teapots won't go in a pocket and are rather cumbersome don't you. think? We also no don't use those sweet little porcelain cups and saucers, held with one's pinkie sticking out, we use good old half pint mugs because being English tea is a necessity of diet not a social ritual.

 

Worth a mention here is Liptons - right, that's got that out of the way, it deserves no more, and Oolong is a green tea of such delicate flavour you could get the same results with dipping a handful of grass into a cup of water and waving it, in fact I am sure the reason they use a grass whisk in their tea rituals is in fact to add a bit of flavour. And yes, I have sampled both, neither made me puke but a cup of good old PG Tips or Red Label black tea instantly washed away the flavours. But having been in China a few times I learnt early on to pack plenty of good old English teabags made with lovely Indian black tea.
