Panic at Bangkok Park: Student Collapses on Viking Ride, CPR Performed

A terrifying incident unfolded in Bangkok Noi as a schoolgirl with a heart condition lost consciousness on the famed Viking ride. The alarming incident happened around 8 pm near Somdet Phra Pinklao Bridge, with Bang Yi Khao Police and rescue workers racing to her aid. The girl, still in her school uniform, was discovered lifeless near the ride, prompting immediate rescue efforts.

Identified as a student from Thon Buri, her specific details remain under wraps. Photos show park staff frantically fanning her in hopes of revival, suspecting that the crowded setting exacerbated her collapse. They swiftly administered CPR before rushing her to Siriraj Hospital, but we don't know her current status.

Reports from ThaiRath highlight her pre-existing heart condition, which likely played a role as she enjoyed the high-thrill ride with friends. Online commentators have been quick to caution those with health issues from partaking in such daring activities, emphasising past accidents at small parks.

Memories of a shocking incident from last June linger, when two women were electrocuted exiting a Tagada ride in Lopburi. The staff blamed a malfunctioning decorative light, but they have not disclosed any updates on the victims or compensations.

The unsettling events raise urgent questions about safety measures in place at amusement parks, especially for vulnerable riders. As the investigation continues, tighter scrutiny on ride operations and emergency protocols could likely ensue.

Maybe one should stay off the Viking ride if one have a heart condition.

Some children don't listen and want to go with their friends. It's part of being a kid. Did you always listen to your mummy?

Not about that! Listen or no listen has nothing to do with this. To answer, your question made in an irrelevant manner, yes, if I knew I had a heart condition, I would listen to my heart.

Some people don't know they have a heart problem until it causes an issue like this, my (Thai) wife discovered she had a congenital hole in her heart at 68 years of age!

While that's sound advice, some still want to enjoy life as much as possible while they can.

My cousin found out he had one when he keeled over and died in his 30s, with no advance warning at all.

Particularly in stifling heat and humidy.

I'm sure I've seen sign like this in Thai funfairs (in Thai, obviously). Let's hope the lass makes a quick and full recovery.

Ok. I don't think you were the always obedient boy when you were this girl's age. I was told not to do certain things when I was a kid. I still did them. Most teenagers are like that. It's part of the adolescent mentality.

Sure it is, but when it comes to your health and physical condition, it comes into another perspective. There is a time when common sense have to win over stupidity and the urge to do things that you might not be able to do. No, you are right, I was not always an obedient boy, but neither did I do things that jeopardize my life.
