Unable to order online medicines anymore.

Featured Replies

Hello.

For the past 6-7 years I have been ordering Bisoprolol 5mg, Aspirin 80mg (Aspilets) and Anapril 5mg from a well known online pharmacy in Bangkok. This morning I went to place another order. A message reads that these medicines have been removed from the cart because they cannot be purchased anymore.  Dose anyone know if there has been any recent changes to buying prescription medicines. I ordered with success a couple of months ago. Any helpful comments appreciated.

Thank you.

I had a similar problem a month or so ago, albeit different medication.

I was able to purchase online from a  company called Medisafe. I have no idea if they would be able to fulfil your requirements but worth a try.

I submitted a request for a quotation through their website and subsequently placed the order on LINE.

5 stars for Medisafe. Good prices, good service.

It looks at though Bisoprolol, Aspirin 80mg, and Anapril are only avaiable at hospital via prescription. The pharmacy just caught up with the law it would seem.  My suggestion is to shop around as see if any brick & motor pharmacies will sell you any of these, and have the pharmacy ship them to you.  Other than that, go to a clinic and see if the hospital/doctor will work with you via mail  Or see if you can find other generics that are still available OTC.

I just bought 81mg Aspirin at my local pharmacy, 20bht for ten, but at my usual pharmacy I buy a bottle of 60 for 40bht.......🤗

I hope you are able to get what you need.  All the best.

Perhaps a related item to this so that I don't need to open a new thread about it.

Recently I did a few orders with bangkokdrugstore.com which I originally used to buy full strength aspirin which I could find nowhere in Pattaya.

But then they shut down for website maintenance.

Well the website is back and it shows my account but when I search for any med that I know they would have, it always shows not found.

What the fudge is going on?

The answer is in plain sight on their homepage.

Was the pun intended??????

I noticed the same thing when trying to order on the website I usually use but they still take orders over the Line app and delivered like usual.

It isn't really.

It's an online drug store and they no longer support online ordering.

They don't want to be seen running an on-line pharmacy, others Pulse, Medtide are in the same situation. But I'll keep ordering because they are a bloody reliable supplier.

Weird and unfortunate.

I wonder what changed that has caused this.

IMHO there has been some enforcement by the authorities of an existing law; remember most pharmacies don't sell prescription stuff if the pharmacist isn't in the store.

Now, this is yet another thing to make expat life as unpleasant as possible.

That makes sense in a TIT kinda way.

Do you have cognitive issues preventing you from recognizing there are multiple reasons a person might order online?

I had been using Medtide for several years to order some stuff. The rates were about 15% cheaper than the local pharmacies. Since May their web site changed and I got asked if I held a doctors prescription to make such an order via their Line chat. I don't need this when walking into a pharmacist so I do that now and pay a bit more.

Imagine if amazon or lazada or shopee was only by email? Come on man, get real.

I used them too during the depths of the pandemic and they were good. But I noticed they don't have much (of what I want) anymore). They used to have a bricks-and-mortar pharmacy in the Silom area (soi Sala Daeng?). Not sure if it's still there.

Just curious, but are you married to a Thai woman?

Like all over Thailand, some pharmacies will sell things that are listed in MIMS as prescription only including benzodiazapines, aspirin, and an assortment of other prescription drug.  Neither of the pharmacies I go to regularly will sell me aspirin, but my wife's rural doctor gives her all she asks for - free.
The trick is to shop around.  Some will, most won't in my observations. You're in luck with yours.

For prescription meds, you need to see a doctor every once in a while. This to check if you still need them. Doctors are getting checked upon this now more than before.

Funny.

That is NOT the case at pharmacies.

Almost everything available without scrip.

That's a factual statement whether or not you're taking aspirin or not.  And for those taking aspirin as a blood thinner, well yeahhhhh, it thins the blood, or course you're more likely to bleed.
