We can agree on all of your points about Putin and Russia being a bandit state but they have a respectfully face outwards to their allies, and their allies do not care to much as long they are stable as partners. 

 

Every sober nation have to look behind the stage and if you take a good look at USA and what USA and their partners/Allies/we have been doing post war two, there is a double moral and hypocrisy to be found not unlike what we like to blaim Russia for.

If these negotiations could lead to an end of conflict and a rapprochement between Russia and the US, a reestablishment of diplomatic relationship, and new nuclear arms treaties to roll the Nuclear Doomsday Clock back an hour or so.  But? I'd say the majority of those in Washington DC as well a virtually all main-stream media outlets what conflict and eventual war with Russia.

For those AN members who think the same - you people and you hyperbolic propaganda and hatred of everything non-Western really are insane.  I pray that cooler mind prevail and this belligerent hate-speak toward Russia is ignored and diplomatic teams from the US and Russia can hammer out long-term diplomatic, economic, and peace treaties.  Personally I don't care if Ukraine becomes a rump state.  It will make a good buffer between the EU elites who are itching for full-scale war with Russia and the Russian Federation including Crimea, and the other four obelisks which are now part of Russia. Those will never go back to Ukraine.  So at this point I'm cautiously optimistic.

Putin fears strength, so back Ukraine to the hilt with weapons and enforce sanctions on Russia and those that assist them. Stop the shadow ships with oil using the collective naval forces. Putin exploits weakness, fears strength.
