Why more likely to be on benefits?

He was just out for a bit of fun but then that happened.

He should be treated exactly as a Thai accused and presumably convicted. Not better. Not worse. The same.

He will pay his way out and be out of Thailand within two months. The police will guide him down this path. A Thai with cash would also pay his way out of detention in the same situation.

If you want to do wheelies, I would suggest Bong Kot Soi 8 is probably one of the worst choices of where to do it. It is a complete rat run with vehicles coming out of entrances and side turnings throughout. Moronic.

He was on an electric dirtbike (SurRon UltraBee) so I don't think insurance would be available since they are not able to be registered for road use in Thailand. His specifically had no plate.

Exactly, if it was an insured motocy, insurance will pay out 500,000 to 3rd parties in the event of death, so he would have a bit of cover there...

Social media has also seen a surge of criticism, with calls for stricter enforcement against reckless riding and harsher punishments for foreign offenders in Thailand.

So.....nothing about all the local reckless, irresponsible riding every minute of every day on the roads. Yes, if he is guilty charge him, but look to yourselves before you start pointing the racist finger at every foreigner who as an accident.

An innocent women has died for his bit of fun.

when witnesses reported seeing the foreigner performing dangerous stunts and wheelies on a motorbike before colliding with the victim,

wheelies are fun... maybe not on soi Bongkot but defo on the 36 pulling top gear on the Gixxer !

This reads like it's  harsher penalties for Farang and less so for Thai?. so if i Thai rider kills a Foreigner / Tourist  & pleads " no have money" for compensation then its ok..

Of course. If he wasn’t visiting the Kingdom then it would never have happened.
