Not victim blaming in any way but it would be good to know if she was wearing a helmet.

  • This reads like it's  harsher penalties for Farang and less so for Thai?. so if i Thai rider kills a Foreigner / Tourist  & pleads " no have money" for compensation then its ok..

  • With the ladys death his bail will most likely be revoked and he will be locked up until a whole lot of money is payed to the girls family.....I certainly hope his family is well off....If not....He i

No, not at all. But I see it hurts you.

1. No doubt he's a Brit

2. Brits are the majority of unlawful behaviour in Thailand and their home country.

3. Brits with reckless behaviour are unwanted in Thailand and should stay where they belong to: prison

4. Compare the cases of Brits with cases of Germans, French aso: Brits are ranking top

Prove your comment.

I've already shown Brits are not in the top six.

When a Thai person kills Thais  or injures Thais they don't have to pay anything but when a white person kills a Thai all hell breaks loose

That’s flat out not true. The Thai guy who ran our local village shop killed another local while driving drunk. He had to sell the shop to his Uncle so that he could scrape together the money to pay off the victims family.

Not much of a surprise that Brits are the majority of unlawful behavior in their home country. They do outnumber the rest by a fair margin.

Disgusting.  Keep him locked up, no bail.  Once convicted, serve his time then deport and blacklist.

So your argument is destroyed.

Nowhere near the top of the list.

So you can take your racist comments and generalisations and shove them.

I think you can take that as a given.

I've seen cases up here where they make a donation to the family and pay the funeral costs with Thais and Thais.

While it’s right that this foreigner has all the opprobrium and severe penalties for his actions ,unless similar is visited on the driving population in general here Thailand will not solve its appalling RTA statistics. In UK causing death by dangerous driving had penalties up to 14 years imprisonment- now extended to a potential life sentence.

To be meaningful it would be necessary to show those figures as a percentage of the population of the respective nationality resident in Thailand. The highest percentage could reasonably be construed as being the worst behaved.

Even then it’s not totally meaningful. If XYZ country has only one person resident here and he is incarcerated, that would be a 100% convicted rate.

As an aside, how weird is it that there are 21 North Koreans convicted here. Out of the frying pan, into the fire?

"Authorities confirmed that the rider’s passport has been flagged, meaning he cannot leave Thailand while the investigation and legal proceedings are ongoing."

Was Thaksin's pasport "flagged" before he fled to Dubai? And what about "Boss"'s passport? Was the "flag" missing at the time?

It should be the other way round...

The Brit died and the woman lives..

These idiots that perform wheelies and show them off on YouTube and Instagram should be prosecuted. That someone had to die because this idiot wanted to show off is terrible,  hope he gets a long prison sentence then maybe others will think twice before putting others in danger.

Not blaming the victim but..... Blaming the victim - by inference!!

Jail until he pays all compensation maybe he will learn a lesson about responsibilty.

As is well deserved.

What is your response "boys will be boys"?

I have no sympathy for him a road is for driving on, I hate idiots showing off on motorcycles on commuter roads and here we have an an unfortunate

womans death because of it.

The woman is dead and the thai court should throw the book at him.

A stark lesson to be learned from this. Pulling wheelies and doing stunts can get you banged up for murder... something I have been trying to highlight about all the dopeheads doing this on Jomtien beach road.. it is only a matter of time

Hardly murder unless he rode into the poor lady with intent to kill her. The most likely charge will be causing her death through negligence which carries a particularly severe penalty of up to 14 years in prison.

When I hear of stories like this I often think about my Thai family. What if that poor girl who lost her life was your wife, daughter, sister in law, niece, etc.

Bless her and the family.

As for the scumbag who caused this, it’s an example of why I detest selfish moronic idiots so much.

Fortunately they have CCTV footage and eyewitnesses so it's likely he will be prosecuted effectively. What an absolute idiot, pulling wheelies on a street busy enough to have other motorcyclists nearby, and it would appear without enough talent or control over his bike. The woman who was killed must have been terrified to see this idiot smashing right into her. I hope she didn't have to endure a lot of pain before she passed away. Her family sure will. So sad. So unnecessarily tragic.

I know there are race tracks for racing and I think there are places where stunt driving is done with consideration for safety.

Thing is jerks like this can't show off at places like that cuz the really good stunt drivers and racing drivers are there and they can't compete.

LLLLLlosers.

Ooooo this is going to be expensive. I wonder if he has started the “go fund me” yet?

You certainly should lay off the weed, never mind accusing other people of smoking it.

Yob behaviour on full display. Meditation at the Hilton for 10 years may do the trick.
