Yeah, I agree. The man is an idiot and hopefully he'll get a slap one day, but it's hardly a matter for the police. Forget it, move on. And generally don't beep at people, it can be very dangerou

That's literally the worst advice you could ever give anyone here.

@fredwiggy You have described yourself to a T in the first paragraph and @Cameroni in the second.

I rarely talk about myself at all and I certainly don't believe that others envy me. When I do talk about myself, I'm often surprised that people say that they don't believe me. It's not a thought that ever enters my head.

You on the other hand...put exactly those things into writing. That you are the smartest and most experienced etc. Know more than anyone else of any subject you choose. As I see it, you are just totally full of yourself.

I am "not very bright" according to you.

I told you, you cannot make a post without veiled insults when you feel that someone is criticising you. You become nasty and vindictive. You aren't a nice person @fredwiggy You just pretend to be one. You should go home to your family. Maybe you'll be a happier person...but I doubt it.

Aaah...is that @nauseus "calling me out" on my behaviour? I wondered to what you were referring. 😊 Baiting because no one is paying him any attention.

We can’t use our horns to “educate” every bad driver. In this case, there was ample time and space to just slow down, give way, and be courteous....

I'm going 10 kph, if I go any slower I'll be standing still. Then you show a picture with him lined up on the left lane with his wheels turned to the left and up against the center line, so we would assume he is turning into the left lane, like all other cars making that left, no?

Lordginz - you claim to be a good driver, at least one with solid critical thought regarding what is going on around you.

In the past you have shown firm observation of the dumb stuff that unfolds in front of us all daily on the roads.

Yet, for some strange reason you were unable to anticipate that this driver was going to head into the right hand lane, but while making his turn had to stop for pedestrians....

If this surprised you - I think its down to your failure to read the road ahead...   the photo I captured show the wheels of the Mazda o the lane divide, clearly showing that either the car was taking a wider path than he should have, or he intended to change lanes...  You chose to continue, which IMO is a minor mistake, he made a minor mistake too...

The situation became exaggerated because you both reacted poorly...  Him worse, nevertheless, there was no need to approach so closely - that action alone was somewhat agressive.

again ... your picture shows that the mazda will keep to the left lane, which would also be the correct behavior according to traffic rules ... that you claim it is obviously visible in this image that the mazda driver is changing lanes, i find quite an strange statement ...

That you are unable to interpret that the Mazda is going to move into the right hand lane would be concerning if I were you.

in the left picture below: the mazda driver still gives the impression of continuing in the left lane after turning left , which is the lane intended for him ...

at this point there was no "ample time" anymore (as you claim) for lordgrinz to react ... without quick and good reaction an accident would have happened ...

A quick and good reaction... he was going 10kmh and the Mazda turned 10m before him...  there was no need to pull next to the Mazda and crowd him like that - no need at all.

1 hour ago, motdaeng said:

in the right picture below: the mazda driver cuts right in front of lordgrinz ... there isn’t really much more to add, except that the mazda driver created a dangerous and reckless situation and then showed his aggressive character, getting out of the car ask for a fight ...

The Mazda continued his turn, moving into the right hand lane. The Mazda driver didn't anticipate that anyone would have pulled up so close to him and should have been a lot more alert to the fact that someone else may also be driving poorly.

Lordgrinz, also drove poorly in his failure to anticipate the Mazda drivers continued path.

To me at least, it certainly does not look as though the Mazda driver was looking to remain in the left lane his wheels were already on the lane divide quite early on.... there was no need to pull next to him and crowd him... Just give him space.

You're still missing the points I made. You haven't a clue about what makes a person with NPD and I again proved you wrong in your fabrication of me. I don't say I'm the smartest or most experienced. That I, along with almost anyone else here, knows a good deal about certain subjects is true. I never said I know more than anyone else about anything so your lying also needs to stop.

Maybe try reading, AND comprehending what I write, along with looking at the link I provided to see the errors in your thinking.

Telling the truth isn't a veiled insult. You really are a very disturbed person, from using many usernames to hide yourself, to arguing about things like the best pizza on earth, and after you're proven wrong, just can't help but come back whenever you see me post on something, just to argue. You call people names then dismiss it, saying they're off your radar, not seeing that as an insult. You call me nasty, yet you calling someone an idiot isn't nasty? I don't pretend to be a nice person. I get along with almost everyone. Everyone besides your kind, who are impossible to relate to.

He can't legally turn left into the right lane, he also can't change lanes over a Zebra crossing, especially when vehicles are coming through that lane, and have the right of way.  I'm going 10 kph, almost everyone else does 40-50 kph through here, not even stopping for the stop sign. He is crowding traffic in a lane he  has no legal  right to enter. For the last time, he is crowding me in my right of way lane, not the other way around! You can't just change lanes in front of oncoming traffic.

Don't threaten, do it.  File a police report.

Yup, that's why having an intelligent conversation on AN is a waste of time.

I really can't believe what I'm reading in this thread. A guy picks up his daughter, narrowly avoids a collision due to a lane hopping criminal who doesn't inidicate, then gets out of the car and threatens said father and daughter and some sad sacks on here are lecturing this father how he's in the wrong, should die, etc...

Suffice to you say, you were obviously in the right, the law was clearly on your side, and if you wanted to shop this guy to police you'd have every right to.

Hire your local friendly  neighbourhood Thai chapter Hells Angel's gang to pay the gentleman a courtsey call. Do nothing yourself.

Jesus, even for AN this is getting pathetic.

@lordgrinz just take your video to the police and see what they say. That will end this ridiculous thread.

Either they'll agree with you, track him down, flog him, and deport him, they'll agree with him that you were the aggressor (you weren't apart from in your driving style), or - 99.999999999% likely they'll say this is a massive nothing burger, you were both being idiots, now get out of the police station and get on with your life.

Please do it.

I agree with you...  "he can't" or rather shouldn't be doing that....    But he did...    The roads of full people doing things they shouldn't....

... For anyone who rides a motorcycle, the lesson is quickly learned...  there's no point being 'dead right'...

You have a very narrow view - perhaps this is why you get so angry at the traffic around you all the time (given many of your posts)...  People here (and anywhere else, the UK included) drive the way they do... thats it, there no point getting bent out of shape about it...    A guy nearly took my wing mirror off in the UK a few weeks back when passing me on a 3 lane road that narrowed to two...  He was clearly in the wrong but there is no point getting wound up about it.

You drove right up to the Mazda, then hit your horn (tooted) - there was no need at all to do that had you been a little more patient, thats all...

It can't be a surprise that the car was going into the right hand lane, your observation skills are surely better than that....  It appears that you saw someone doing something you didn't like and you wanted to 'let them know they shouldn't do that' by crowding them and 'tooting' your horn.....

Its hardly social driving....

Can someone provide a very, very brief summary of what this thread is about? I saw it was 12 pages and really can't be ar$ed to read it.

Has @JakeC been rear ending @fredwiggy or vice versa? Have I stumbled into the gay forum?

@fredwiggy I would ask you if you are okay, but I know that you are not. You seem to have an obsession with claiming that you have proved people wrong, when in fact you have done nothing of the sort. It's just WEIRD 😊

Everything I have written is backed up by your posts. You claim that you know more than anyone, more experienced, have driven twice as much as anyone else... Your posts are peppered with exactly the same things each time...together with your absolutely baseless claims that you have proved me or anyone, wrong. Show me where you have proved ANYONE wrong.

You just come out with a great steaming pile of nonsense and then proclaim that you have proved someone wrong. It's patently ridiculous. You fit the mould of someone with NPD. Of that there is little doubt. I do not, but yet you try to try to shoehorn me in, even though you cannot match me with even a single trait.

You praise yourself to high heaven and are particularly sensitive to criticism, amongst varied other strange behaviour. Where have you disproved that? You haven't. You just claim it and repeat it as if you have. It's WEIRD.

You write that I lie... So who wrote this, @fredwiggy😊

Quote

Some are gifted with strength, knowledge of nutrition, psychology, mechanics, politics, medicines, music, movies, history, science, kinesiology, history, mathematics, and many other things, so they use that knowledge to help others, just like I and others here do.

That you, an uneducated person on the subject, refers to an empathic person as a narcissist only shows one of two things. You either know so very little on the subject and have to google it to try and label someone as such, or you're a full fledged narc that hides behind lies and deflection, thinking they'll convince others of this. I know the answer, as your constant deflection is a sure sign. You are so ignorant on this subject and actually think you're fooling anyone, especially me, that it's like I'm arguing with a teenager.

To whom are  you referring when you list those things? I guarantee that you are referring to yourself. You are totally conceited 😊

Then you add that I am uneducated and a "fully fledged narc" without having a shred of evidence, but just driven by your own hate and bitterness.

You write that everyone is sensitive to criticism. I am not. I welcome it. I use it to improve. You don't improve, as you think you are already 'gifted' 😊

@fredwiggy, you are a fully fledged narcissist. No doubt. You fit the description like a glove. It's you.

It might be pointing out the obvious, but if you were even one tenth as gifted as you would like to think you are, you wouldn't be living in the middle of arse, in a house built on government land with no money nor resources to get yourself and your daughter out of there and back to the USA where you think you belong.

You might be living in a beachfront penthouse with a normal partner who actually loves and respects you without you having to pay for that.

But it seems Mr Self Proclaimed Genius prefers living in misery. Constantly complaining about almost everything in his life. The most wonderful thing in your life, according to you, is you.😊 Everything else is below par. Even your daughter suffers from depression, according to you. Am I lying?

I don't lie. You do. You lie as easily as breathing. If I could be bothered, I could go through your posts to copy and paste your conceited statements time and time again.

I actually shocked that you are denying how conceited you are. But I shouldn't be...because you clearly suffer from NPD.

It is not nonsense that incessant horn use is a "thing" in Thailand... most of the time horn use is infrequent and not "beeping like insane" [sic].

Again, not so. Of course the horn can also be used as an audible warning to motorcycle riders or indeed car drivers who are driving eratically.

Also if they are going the wrong way it is perfectly permissible to use the horn.

Shocking how many people of an advanced age don't even know the most basic rules of traffic on AN..

Absolute nonsense. You're allowed to use the horn to prevent any accident. Not just to alert others of your approach. Even if you saw a car on the other lane about to cause an accident it would be perfectly legal to use the horn to warn them they're about to cause an accident The horn is not just for warning of your approach.

Again total ignorance of the laws of traffic.

What is absolute nonsense is for you to think that using the horn to prevent an accident is not warning others of your approach which is the only legitimate use of the horn.
