I did walk last trip from Jomtien to Pattaya but ended up hurting my knee on the way .

Luckily some members on here came to pick me up in their car once I posted where I was stuck ..thanks Even keel 🙏

And where I was locked in the view talay 2B another drove past and I was able to escape

Could we get back on topic please

So I'm looking for walks without motorbikes roaring past me , doesn't have to be peaceful just I don't want to be dodging traffic

I enjoy walks just this trip I don't have the patience to dodge traffic and motorbikes etc

I don't uphill walks ,

Beautiful walks , can I walk from Jomtien beach to North Pattaya ,is that possible???

How far does the beach let you walk ??

What about any rainforest /bush walks ??

What about that mountain areas ?I heard there's wild dogs ?

When I was in Bangkok I walked the green Mile ,is there any parks etc I can walk here in Pattaya ?

Move to Hua Hin, got a 5km beach to walk from one end to another. Best beach for retirees in Thailand for healthy living, and got decent gyms for 2k a month 😉

On the beach/sand?

No.

There is a lot of obstacles.

I could try to detail but it is enough to know that you would end e.g. at the old lighthouse with it's rocky beach immediately followed by Bali hai (harbor).

The road would lead to walking street 😁 (good for everything except walking).

North of Jomtien Beach there is a Royal owned estate strictly forbidden to approach from the road. Doubt you can walk by on the beach.

Even Pattaya beach to Wong Amat (Naklua) might end at the Dusit Thani? Also rocky

Agreed

One full lap is just over 10kms and includes a hill to go up and down.

Of course individual sections of the circuit can be walked. The west side of the reservoir has a flatter profile with segregated the cycling track from the running/walking track over most of its length.

At low tide it is possible to navigate through the rocky area, its not too bad but helpful to be sure on your feet.  Once through, there is a nice, long stretch of beach walking - maybe as far as Sanctuary of Truth area.

Jomtien beach from the Sea Rescue station north of Dongtan beach down to the end of beach rd. (Pupen seafood) is about 7 km (4.3 ml).

Might be even a bit more if you can walk around the rescue station (not sure).

Yep ... unlimited options for surfside strolling.  Also at HH, south of, Khao Tao Reservoir, nice walkway around that.

Locally we have 6+ km of surfside strolling to be had, on the sand or walkway.  Just one bay.  Ban Krut Beach, Thung Wua Laen, would be a couple others.

Just some of the stretches of the 3100+ kms of coastline of TH.

Plenty of mangrove area with walkways through them.   Options about, and simply looking at satelite view of TH, and they're all there for your picking.

Same with parks, for strolling through the hills, and plenty that don't charge an entrance fee.  Again, Gmaps will point the way.

If you want to go a little further afield, there’s a 5km track along the eastern shore of Bangphra reservoir near Sriracha , while if you are feeling energetic there are trail walks’ up and around Khoa Chalark that are very popular with local runners and walkers on weekend mornings. (05:30hrs onwards).

Pratumnak Park 1.5km loop is about the best, lots of people there morning and evening, mostly flatish.

Head to top of Pratumnak Hill

Doesn't Jomtien also have a 5km beach?

If you walked on both, you would know the flat beach in Hua hin makes it much better to walk on normal tides than Jomtien. I have walked both quite a bit and hua hin  is best

Yeah well the OP lives in Jomtien and struggles to find his way around there.

So we see, not only finding his way I would say

Good jungle walks at Khao Mai Meow reservoir, but that's probably beyond the op, he'll end up lost

Plenty of beautiful parks to walk in..no traffic, no dogs, there is 2 in Jomtien

For me, the best long walks are on my own, walking randomly in areas I've not been, and occasionally getting, albeit briefly, lost.

I used to just get off some BTS or MRT station that I'm unfamiliar with and go from there.

Worst case, I'd hail a cab after a few hours and ask to return to a station, and take it from there.

Getting lost on the bicycle somewhere sometimes takes more time to unravel, but that's part of the fun.

In a more organized way, Bangkok Pat, see YouTube, conducts walking tours in various parts of Bangkok that are both historically informing and pleasant.

Other, local tour operators do similar.

So, my suggestion, just wing it, or go to any of the huge number of parks. Benjakiti Park for one is unbelievable expansive, one could easily take a different route every day and not repeat.

Others will have more specific suggestions I'm sure.

I was always told to take a Long Walk on a Short Pier. I never got to finish my Long Walk.

Move to Phuket, there is a 7 km walk around the reservoir in Kathu, most of the walkers are Thai, there is a road for cycles and walkers, you may be passed by three slowly driven cars on average as you walk the circuit.

Tarmac road, trees overhanging most of the circuit hence shelter from the sun, we do it on a daily basis.

Please don't encourage GG. Next he'll be asking where the men's toilets are to combine both walking and his other hobby.

There's that floral park place in Pattaya. You can walk for a few miles in there. They used to have shows and elephants painting and other stuff to take a break from the walk. :stoner:

It is a matter of personal choice, and for me, Hua Hin are in many ways an better option for me. Also the beach which is on most days due to the tide, more flat and hard packed than most other beaches.

Many nice options for restaurants and drinks along the beach as well. Hua hin also have nice hill walking not so far from the center as well with almost no traffic at all. Several options with trecking in the bush/Forrest to.
