The companies' announcements come amid escalating turmoil at the CDC. Last week, director Susan Monarez was fired less than a month into her tenure after resisting changes to vaccine policy that were advanced by Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr, who was handpicked by Trump earlier this year.

Her removal sparked the resignation of four senior CDC officials, who blamed the erosion of public health credibility.

Kennedy has also rescinded federal COVID vaccine recommendations for pregnant women and healthy children and halted about $500 million in funding across 22 mRNA vaccine research projects, including those targeting COVID.

As tensions over federal immunization policies and public health directives grow, Florida on Wednesday announced plans to end all state vaccine mandates, including for children to attend schools.

 

Kennedy is set to testify before the Senate Finance Committee later this week, where lawmakers are expected to probe the CDC's leadership crisis and ongoing policy shifts.

Pfizer also said new information on its latest vaccine strain, recently cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, will be published in the coming days.

You can suffer side effects for all kinds of medication, they carry warnings to that effect.

Personal choice whether you want to suffer from any ailment from not taking medication, or a risk of an allergic reaction to the medication.

Blanket indemnity was because they were issued as an 'emergency' vaccine, without the necessary years of trials to conclude its effectiveness, or years to develop alternatives.

It wasn't forced, they were given the freedom to make a choice.

Many decisions at the time were made for the protection of the unvaccinated as well as the vaccinated.

 

Personally, I had no problem with working or flying with anyone unvaccinated.
They were at a higher risk than me of catching the virus.

A statement of pure ignorance. Personally I have a teacher friend here from the US. His options were a) get jabbed or b) lose his job. The US military was a glaring example of mandation. Get jabbed or leave the military. You call this freedom to chose? Teachers and nurses were also given what you call "freedom to make a choice. Some did of course and chose not to get jabbed. They became instantly unemployed.
