  • Lock him up. He already wriggled out of the first try. No bail, no appeal, like monopoly, "Go straight to jail".

  • He will not serve one day in a prison cell.

  • Well you could knock me over with a feather at this time. No way I would predict this.I thought he was tipped off and all was okay for his return. Now lets see if he (actually ) spends time in a

So now there'll be an appeal process? And further Get Out of Jail cards to play, including air navigation matters ...

Not to mention how his jail time will be served, if ever.

Following the court's verdict, Thaksin was immediately detained.

But will be be able to post bond? is this the final decision with all options to delay or fight the verdict used up? Doubtful.

Nope, this was the supreme court. No appeal. What is interesting is that the court didn't immediately take him into custody.

Excellent decision. Hopefully they detain him right away so that he won't be playing games with his jet again.

There is No appeals allowed, no bail  the only way is Executive Clemency but since he has been pardoned before  this is a long stretch which is doubtful

They did.

It will end up being home arrest with an ankle bracelet, he is 76 after all.

It would be easy time. He’d hardly be locked up in a cell in the ‘Hilton’ with 100 others with a hole in the ground.

He is in jail already: https://www.channelnewsasia.com/asia/thailand-thaksin-shinawatra-jail-1-year-verdict-hospital-stay-5339256#:~:text=Thaksin was elected prime minister in 2001 and,in prison for corruption and abuse of power.

Thaksin was seen at the court removing his jacket and getting into a corrections department van. A Reuters witness later confirmed that he had arrived at prison. "

The only problem with jailing him is its making him a martyr  to his cause

He's already had appeals. This is just the prison he avoided.

They wormed their way around that by saying convictions abroad (presumably even for rape and murder) don't count???????

Apparently this is the loop hole......he wasn't convicted or sentenced as such....this was simply sentence enforcement and won't affect his ability to serve as a politician...

who you talking about Thaskin was convicted to a 8yr sentence reduced to 1 yr by pardon  thaskin is a sentenced felon   you are correct today is just sentence enforcement  and as a convicted felon he can not server as a mp

I'm a skeptic by nature and I'm inclined to think you're correct.

In a few hours he must be rushed to the hospital again as he will get high bloodpressure or so

How long will take him to develop a life-threatening ailment that require hospitalization I wonder?

I guess that with 'good behavior', consideration of his age and background, and few more pulls from here and there,

he'll be out in no time ready and able to continue his shenanigans.

His convictions were criminal not tied to election fraud
