There are green snakes in Thailand that are harmless (golden tree snake) and there are green snakes in Thailand that can kill you (vipers). Best to leave snakes be.

Oh it is easy to distinguish them, I have little concern there. It's my Mrs who desperately needs me to get rid. If I was unsure of it being venomous, I would surely not mess with it.

Local resident Atthasit Fuangcharoen, known as Thar, reported having seen the same python in the area for over a month. During this period, a significant number of pet cats went missing, raising suspicions about the snake’s involvement. Despite multiple attempts to capture it, the python had previously evaded emergency services.

Residents expressed concern over the growing issue of wildlife, such as pythons, encroaching on urban areas like Pattaya. Experts warned that these snakes pose risks to small pets and livestock, as urban development continues to invade their natural habitats.

I thought snakes only eat once every few months. Suggests pythons plural is much more likely if a significant number are cats going missing. Mind you knowing cats I would have thought it was the pythons that were more at risk.

Whilst they are pretty handy and superior to smaller snakes, I am  not sure what they can do to a sizeable python.

Serves the basturd right. Leave the cats alone.

In florida they have a bounty on them after escaping a wildlife sanctuary they became a massive problem bounty hunter's catch them but don't kill them they release them into the wild, the big ones take on babies, be good if they controlled soy dogs instead of cats sterilisation was supposed to fix soi dogs but never happened as did driver log books to busy collecting drug money

especially in Thailand, they are necessary as they keep the rodent population in check.

Cats are not rodents.

I caught a 2 and half metre long snake the other day. It struggled a bit.

I caught a smaller one about 2 ft  at most and it wrapped itself around my wrist and seemed to tie a knot. Got in a right pickle trying to get it off. Mrs wouldn't come near me to help!

I have a pic of the 8+ ft one I caught. I'll post it if anyone would like to see it.
