Who Are Thailand's Criminals And What Are Their Crimes

Reading Thaiger / Asean Now's Forum, one would sees that certain nationalities are being blamed for crimes undertaken by foreigners. It is a subtle undertaking that distracts and offers an alternative, and overall it has been rather effective, because very little commentary is offered in respect to the group who are most likely to be implicated. Instead some intentionally carry on as if western farangs, and especially Israelis are depraved violent criminals. The data does not support that conclusion. Westerners are mostly law abiding, and the Israelis crimes are  relatively minor and do not have "victims".

We had a look at the past three months of English language news stories from KhaoSod, Thaiger,  PattayaOne and Phuket News and the most significant number of criminals come from the immediate region; China, Philippines, South Korea, Vietnam and Indonesia.  Almost 64% of the people implicated came from these countries. 159 people of the 254  total.

Nearly 43% of the incidents   involved these nationalities.  Within this group, the Chinese nationals dominate. Almost 30% of all  incidents reported involved Chinese nationals. 26% of incidents involved Chinese nationals.

The Asians dominate the  Cyber Crime and Financial Fraud claims. And they are also implicated in the  drug trafficking incidents. Although almost all of the dealers arrested are African, specifically Nigerian, the Chinese are implicated in drug  manufacturing and distributing.

The sex crimes are interesting too. A bug fuss was made over 3 inconsequential incidents involving young men  have a bit of fun on quiet beaches. Their crime was to be caught by voyeurs, but really they were harmless. No one was hurt, and yet there was finger pointing for these incidents.

03-Nov-25 Public indecency Israeli A couple was  recorded on an empty beach having intimate relations Koh Phagnan
26-Sep-25 Public Indecency & Drunkeness UK Patong police have arrested a 44-year-old British national after a viral video showed him dancing naked on Bangla Road’s walking street Phuket (Patong)
26-Sep-25 Public Indecency & Pornography Russian (2)

23-year-old Russian man arrested fr public indecency after a viral video showed him engaged in sexual acts with a Thai woman in the back of a pickup truck on a busy Phuket road. His Russian accomplice was  arrested for driving the vehicle to allow for recording.

Phuket (Patong)

Quite a contrast with the crimes involving sexual assaults where there were victims.

02-Oct-25 Sex crimes against Children   Dutch Arrested 77-year-old Dutch man and his Thai accomplice for allegedly trafficking children under 15 for sex work, seven years after he was deported for similar offenses. Pattaya
21-Sep-25 Sexual Assault Pakistani Arrested for assaulting an autistic Thai woman, Subsequently found to have visa violations Udon Thani
19-Oct-25 Sexual Assault Japanese four Japanese tourists  fined for sexually harassing a salon owner during haircut Pattaya
03-Nov-25 Sexual Assault Chinese (3)   21-year-old woman accused three Chinese men of gang-raping her at a house Pattaya
30-Aug-25 Sexual Assault of Children Indian-USA

Foreign language teacher accused of sexually abusing children in his classroom over the course of a year

Comparing Israel with a population of 10 million to the Chinese with 1.5 billion.

Do yourself a favor and learn some Thai and watch the morning TV news in Thai if you want to watch about Thai criminals.

The problem with the Israeli crime wave has been well reported because the Thai citizens have been complaining. So the Royal Thai Police, the Thai Prime Minister and the Thai local governments have had to step in.

It has been the number 1 issue on Thai social media and they have had enough of the assaults on women and the general appalling attitude of Israeli tourists who get around as if their money built Thailand.

Most of the Israeli crimes do not get reported in the English press such as this one last month where three Israeli males kneed, kicked and choked a Thai hotel receptionist after they refused to pay their bill.

And along comes the resident agent provocateur who has no data to support his claims. Yes, we were also looking at the Thai news, AND social media.  Provide the crime data.

When was there counterfeiting? There was one incident where  an attempt was made to pass US counterfeit bills at Koh Samui airport. Counterfeiting is the  manufacture of the copy currency. The implicated parties have been identified as low level  criminals.

Where was the  public sex in front of children?  There were 3 incidents, the Russian, the UK and the Israeli. All were young males and there were no victims and certainly nothing particularly egregious.

The only weapons offence was  with  a Chinese national who when arrested, had a Beretta. The other weapons offence was the Indian club manager who threatened  a customer. need a reminder Comrade?

29-Oct-25 Firearm and Apprehension of  foreign fugitive Chinese Police arrested a Chinese national wanted for allegedly orchestrating a massive cryptocurrency fraud that scammed nearly 100 victims out of over  100 million yuan (approximately $14 million USD) in China. Illegal firearm and ammunition found         Chiang Mai
30-Sep-25 Gun Threat Indian indian club manager  threatened customer with a fun, resulting police action also found nine employees tested positive for narcotics. Authorities also discovered over 40 foreign workers—including Indian, Myanmar, and Uzbek nationals—operating without proper work permits or holding fraudulent documentation.            Pattaya

There were no weapons offences  involving Israelis.  One Israeli  was found with a magazine partially filled with  ammunition. The bullets were in poor condition and neglected. If you know anything about ammunition, you would know just by looking at the  photographs, that the ammunition had been neglected. There was no evidence of a weapon and no claim of a criminal intent.

And now we get to our special nugget. The deflection away from the Chinese national cyber crime and financial fraud.

Almost 20% of the  reported incidents were cybercrime or financial fraud. 16% of the identified participants were Chinese nationals.  No incidents involving  Israelis were reported.  Know what else? All the gambling offences related to Chinese.

The only deflecting is from you as you present  incidents out of context and make false claims.

The video you post is not supported. Where is the police report? Because someone claims the culprits are French Israeli does not make them so. If anything they are most likely to be North African, but there is nothing to  support that claim either. The video channel popped up in May, and has  3 videos. and has been silent since. That's a typical troll bot farm  characteristic.

You are throwing every lie and fabrication that you can in the hopes that it will stick, and yet, you  ignore the very significant presence of the  Chinese crimes.  Try again Comrade.

I believe that there is an agenda. There is no denying that some Israelis have been idiots and rude. However, their incidents are sometimes not serious let alone crimes. The same goes for some of the other foreigners.  I offer that there is an attempt to manipulate opinion. One person has his  own agenda of planting stories intended to cause a fuss and too stir emotions.

what I would like you to answer is why do the Thai business owners feel the need to put up signs for banning Israelis but not other nationalities?

Are you claiming it is antisemitism by the lovely Thai people?

Why is it necessary that all levels of government have singled out the Israelis?
Is the Thai government antisemitic?

And why have so many other countries banned Israeli tourists?

What is different about Israelis that special laws need to be made for them?

Who are Thailand's criminals?

Mainly Thais and Chinese... but highlighting other foreigners and having headlines with busts serves the narrative of deflection and shifts blame from where it really is. The stats quoted are a tiny fraction of crimes committed, but it plays well with the locals to blame the big bad foreigner when 99.9% of crimes are committed by locals or Chinese.

"We"... is that the royal "We"?

Mainly Chinese IMO.  And that includes those that have come here since WW2 and Mao's takeover and have taken over. If every person of Chinese origin (current and last generation) were removed - Thailand would become a be a great place again.  The Thais have their faults - but they are nothing compared to the Chinese mafia/families that run this country solely for their own benefit and without any care about the negative impact on ordinary Thai people.

Drowning? So? There was no weapon. People forget their ammunition in bags, and every year there are thousands of  discoveries just like this. You have false described this as a weapons offence. it was not. There is nothing to suggest that this man was anything other than an idiot who did not check his bag. It is hard for people who do not come from a gun owning nation to understand how and why it occurs, but this happens in the USA, South Africa, Brazil, El Salvador and many other nations.

I am not Israeli, and have no association with the country, nor am compensated by any entity associated with it.

I do resent the constant barrage of the hateful propaganda and the attempt to manipulate people.

Absolutely agree - there are different levels of subtlety as well! This video was about as subtle as invading Poland!

True of course. OTOH, foreigners enjoy reading about these stories and that's why they make it into these expat-type of news outlets. OTOH, the libel laws here make it almost impossible for these news outlets to report on which Thai guys are really crooks and report on what they've done. Even the Bangkok Post and Nation and all TV channels are very careful to figure out which way the wind blows (by the pooyai/establishment) before venturing into that area.
