‘Big Joke’ Loses Final Appeal Over Police Dismissal

The Supreme Administrative Court has upheld the dismissal of Surachate Hakparn, the former deputy national police chief. The court ruled that his dismissal was legitimate, ending his efforts to return to the police service. Surachate had faced charges in the Criminal Court for money laundering and malfeasance linked to an online gambling platform.

Surachate's legal battle began after his dismissal around two years ago, following his indictment. He contested the dismissal in the Administrative Court and later appealed to the Supreme Administrative Court. Today, the court examined three main issues in its decision-making process.

Firstly, the court evaluated the legitimacy of the dismissal itself. It confirmed that the dismissal order was lawfully issued following the Criminal Court's arrest warrant against him. The court found no grounds to question the legitimacy of the order.

Secondly, the court considered whether Surachate was deprived of the opportunity to learn more about his case. While acknowledging his dismissal might have affected his rights, the court noted that it was within a legal exception. The seriousness of the charges warranted this measure while investigations were ongoing.

Lastly, the court addressed whether the dismissal was executed in a bona fide and lawful manner. It determined that the national police chief had appropriate authority to terminate Surachate’s employment due to the grave nature of the charges. This ruling underscores the gravity of the accusations he faces, reported Thai PBS WORLD.

Key Takeaways:

  • The Supreme Administrative Court upheld the dismissal of Surachate Hakparn.

  • The court deemed his dismissal legitimate based on a Criminal Court arrest warrant.

  • Serious charges justified the termination of employment amid ongoing investigations.

He said that the RTP was the biggest criminal organization in Thailand... Why would he like to work for such an institution? Or is it true once a criminal always a criminal?

It's just the spelling there should be an "i" spruikers

spruiker

noun

  1. One who spruiks business, a tout.

  2. One who toots their own horn.

Excellent news, it's time to shut down this absolutely ridiculous joke of a man, and his clean boy charade. Confiscate his fortune and lock him up.

I accept that many on here think he was a great man of fine upstanding, but I for one am glad to see the back of him, a racist xenophobe.

Grea, finally that has been settled.

According to Grok AI, Surachate Hakparn aka "Big Joke" was not found guilty or convicted of any alleged crimes as of January 10, 2026.

A disciplinary committee and the Police Ethics Protection Commission found sufficient grounds for serious misconduct, leading to his suspension in April 2024 and formal dismissal from the Royal Thai Police without pension in March 2025.

Additional probes into bribery to influence these cases are ongoing, with files submitted to the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) as recently as January 5-6, 2026.

Leaving these details out of the main article seems biased and could mislead readers into believing something that has not been proven.

Why does he want so badly to be back in, when they don’t want him. Something doesn’t add up.

Maybe, he needed to stay as a member of the RTP to weed out all those corrupt higher level officials which there are many. I ask you how could he do that without being in the inner circle of sin of the RTP?

Have yo ever seen the the movie Alcopone based on the real life corruption of coppers USA where alcohol was banned. That period reminds me of the RTP this century.

Well just think about it ! If he was guilty he wouldn’t want to get back into the force ! He is straight , too straight for the likes of his colleagues . They need extra money, he doesn’t, he’s rich in his own right. I think everyone knows how the RTP works.

Somebody needs to explain to him about the definition of insanity. Maybe the penny will drop.

Of course she wants back in he was making big money under the table do you know all the big criminals who’s just getting a small piece of each deal come on big joke is a joke he’s as bad as the rest of them from top to bottom they’re all criminals TIT

Pot calling the kettle black ?

...Some Say He Was Clearly Set Up...To Be Taken Out Of The Way...(?)

...While Others 'Get Away With Murder'...(?)

When you start to expose the corruption of people high up in the Thai police you know you are a marked man.
