Googled Que Pasa.  Only thing with that name is in Bangkok.  Nothing came up when I googled Bangtalad Pakkret.

 

Speaking of Mexican in Pattaya.  Has anyone tried Taco Taco?  Walked by there a few times.  Seems busy enough although it's just a little tiny shack.

Rubbish. Why do you think some Thai food is known as Royal Thai Cuisine? Thai food is complex  both rich and subtle, spicy and aromatic, delicate and robust,  national and local. The quality of food in Thai restaurants has nothing to do with Western Imperialism. I was trying to track down a restaurant in a mall in Chidlom specialising in Laab. Nearly 50 different varieties.  In my research just looking at Metcury Ville its apparent how fantastic Thai food is. Yes they did have tables and chairs.

Agreed good Brit Grub places but no decent Thai in that area.

The Greek place, on Soi Bonkot. called El Greco certainly hits the spot.

Had a lamb dish, came with yogurt, fries some salad and pita bread. Lamb was excellent, all in all, a very enjoyable meal, they give a free starter and also a desert. The meal was under 300B, cant remember exactly but good value.

I go to this place at least once a month, some of their lamb dishes are outstanding.

It is good, shame about the location if you do not have your own transport but then again the rent probably cheap so if in a better location, their costs would be higher.

 

Greek couple that own/run it are nice people, genuine.

Food is good, service is good.

Very sensible drinks prices also, whether it be just water/soda or beers.

Not greedy. very fair.

The lady was particularly helpful when I took my missus there to sample Greek cuisine ahead of a holiday to Crete.

El Greco is on Grab Delivery. 29 baht fee.

???  A lot of authentic restaurants are in the malls and T21 has decent and cheap everyday Thai food which is probably why it's always full of everyday Thais.  And this obsession with MSG.  Maybe I am wrong but is it really that common in Thai food?  I was under the impression it's not.

When I eat Indian food, I like it cheap, because no Indian food just as no Thai food needs a lot of money to be done correctly (i never select the idiot fancy places, I do not like to pay for decoration).

 

So i went to Tea partner and found that 200 thb at least for a small bowl of Massala or any indian dish (around 20 spoons) is clearly overpriced.

Do you know which Indian is cheaper or at least honest ?

I do not believe that any Indian food is better than another one, they all cook the same food and it has nothing special, so no need to try to tell that one is better than another, etc... I do not believe anyway ! I just want cheap and clean please.

Not sure that is still the case but it certainly was 5-10 years back. So many cheap looking places have opened in the last few years.

There is a new Indian place opened recently next to the Galaxy bar on 2nd Road at the junction with Klang, where the busses to Naklua wait. It is not a restaurant per se but a kitchen and serving counter with a few plastic tables and chairs outside. The food seems to be more like cheap snacks than meals and the place is always busy whenever I go by, customers have all been Indian. They seem to have found a very lucrative niche in the market, not your standard Indian resto model. Of course, I don't know if sales exceed costs and if the place is profitable, but it doesn't want for customers, that's for sure, they positively flock there.

If you do go there, I can reccommend the big Leo at 90 baht a bottle next door at the Galaxy bar, super value. If heading back to Naklua it is just 5 yards to stagger to the bus and waiting bus drivers can help pour you on to a seat. Getting off at your destination may not be quite so easy.

Yes that puts me off going in, apart from the high price. I don't like being the only customer and you have to question how fresh is the food. Even the ones in the Indian areas, like around WS, are empty.

Yes they serve Indian street food and snacks only. There is a similar place down South near Pattaya Tai on 2nd called Gokul (on the going to Jomtien side of Tai). I reviewed Gokul before on this thread. These are not places for people looking for Indian restaurants.

 

For standard Indian restaurant food at the standard local market prices (not cheap) I've been enjoying this place recently. CHAK DE INDIA. They do have well cooked and decent portions thalis as well.

Sergio's Pizza Factory

Avenue Mall (front side), 2nd road, ground floor

 

I have been numerous times. With a name like Pizza Factory, obviously they feature pizza. The distinctive thing there is their sourdough crust. You might like it or maybe you won't like it. I like it. 

 

Filling out the menu is a wide range of appetizers, pastas including gnocchi and desserts.

 

I found their minestrone soup exceptional. The best I've had in Thailand. It surprised me how good it was actually. Didn't think much of the chicken wing appetizer with spicy tomato sauce and also a silly small portion. 

 

Calzone is a mystery. I had it twice. One time amazing. The next time the crust was poor. Likely a different chef that's used to cooking pizzas instead of calzone.

 

Gnocchi served either with a tomato sauce or creamy cheese sauce. Quite good. 

 

Signature dessert pizza is topped with Nutella, berries, and strawberry sauce. Worth trying one time anyway.

 

Prices? Not so cheap but here's where Sergio's got you covered.

There are five ways to save money --

 

One

Lunch special set, time limited. Choice of two or three courses.

Two

"Free" margarita pizza including very good Caesar salad and drink, any time. You can add toppings to the set pizza for extra.

 

Three

Eatigo as much as 50 percent off for food but not drinks (timed reservations)

 

Four

2 for 1 pizzas

 

Five

Get someone else to pay!

 

Drinks including water on the pricey side so that's how they get you on promotions that don't include a drink. 

 

I'm not going to fully detail all of their promotion offers. Check their facebook and signs at the restaurant. Book on eatigo. In my opinion, they have very good food (for the most part) and it's worth checking out, especially with discounts.

True. Have noted some with 150 baht Thali(a platter containing varied dishes) and perhaps there was even an 'all you can eat' restaurant. You'll find them on the stretch of Thappraya between Pattaya Sai 2 Soi 17 & Soi 18.

For example; http://punjabitadkapattaya.com/ have Thali for between 120 baht & 180 baht.

 

 

A pic of their 'Special' vegetarian Thali for 150 baht(they have a non vegetarian for 180);

 

 

 

 

 

Thali are a good way to get an Indian meal without paying silly prices.

 

 

The all you can eat Indian restaurant is, if still there, a few doors to the left of this one.
