According to a source from the investigation team, the worker was identified as Win, 21. He worked at a bar on Koh Tao.

The source said Win was taken into custody and detained pending DNT test along with two other Myanmar workers - Maw, 23, and Saw, 21.

Maw and Saw were captured on Koh Tao while Win on the mainland of Surat Thani.

Police are waiting for DNT test results to match those found on cigarette but and other evidences at the scene.

Maw told police that he played guitar on the beach and smoked the cigarette but he returned home and knew nothing about the murder.

But Win later admitted that he saw the two tourists having sex so he made the attack with a plan to rape the woman.

I don't believe the confession.

I don't believe the Brit guy and girl were having sex, or even together.

She was dragged off and attacked, he ran to help, now that story makes sense.

I believe it was a Thai related to the head man who is guilty, else why would they covered up for so long.

.

Weeks of scrutiny by millions of people in every nation, and these fools have the gall to make an obviously, patently, untrue statement such as this.

If they are the perps, I'm glad they've been caught. But I hope the Myanmar embassy demands confirmation of the DNA match from an independent lab. And if any good can come out of this, I hope the police can set up some policies on not spreading rumors about ongoing investigations.

Why don't they wait for the DNA results first, but rush to make a statement again.

So many times they have been proved wrong in the past.

Why should I believe them now?

No need, the deal has been made, to hell with DNA results, not needed they have confessed.

I wouldnt believe the police at all no matter who they charged

swap the dna to match any body's!

Until an independent investigation is done and that matches the police will i truly believe it

Considering the skill and honesty of Thai police as well as the investigation procedures they performed in (also) this case these culprits have to be considered innocent scapegoats until real police with real investigation methods and well known for not being corrupt has proven them guilty.

World police make sure that Thai police does not act like criminals

It was a white man playing the guitar on the beach, this is what the police told us at the start.

This is just going to prolong the pain for the families, 3rd world mindset in this nation where the natives are known to have a low IQ.

Let's hope this is the killer and that true justice has been served.

Please Thailand, things look bad enough already.

Honesty, integrity and justice, you at least owe the victims and their families that.

It's an insult to intelligence -

List too long to state here .

The world meanwhile sees this and notes duly .

Jesus wept indeed

What exactly is the world duly noting? An arrest with a confession?
