Man murders young wife with electric drill in Buriram - then claims a panic attack

A 40 year old man took an electric drill to his 22 year old wife in their bedroom in the middle of the night.

Benjamas, 22, screamed out in terror and her mother and neighbors rushed to break down her bedroom door at 4am. But when they gained access she was barely alive.

Her husband Winai,40, had escaped out of the second floor window. He was soon arrested by Krasang area police walking along the Buriram - Surin Road. He was covered in blood and incoherent. A check at the police station showed he was high on Ya Ba.

Police found a scene of horror at the house. The bedroom was covered in blood. Benjamas had been taken to hospital but was already dead. They found evidence of drug taking.

Winai told police that he had suffered a panic attack thinking he was being attacked. He used the cordless electric drill to smash his wife over the head. Then he drilled into her face, arms and body.

She had multiple wounds.

The victims mother said that her daughter and son-in-law had the occasional argument but nothing serious. They both had jobs nearby where Winai was a stone polisher.

But the victims uncle Saner, 58, said the police should prosecute Winai to the full extent of the law. "She never had a chance, " he said.

Winai was charged with murder, drug use and domestic abuse.

Good luck trying to aquire a firearm no licence required in El Dorardo the firearm is regestered  (well sometimes ) not the owner

usually caffeine and vidéo game addicts don't steal and even less kill to buy what they need.... 

 

Some members here are sidestepping the tragedy topic of the discussion and make it all about themselves....

 

Just another Thai man that makes good commercial for a happy family life. The regular ingrediencies are all there. No brain function, yaba and death.

Legalising yaba might not be such a good idea after all.....

Just because alcofixes are not mentioned in particular doesn't make silverados statement wrong in general - which was his post, clearly 'in general'.
While one might be more dangerous than the other the only real difference is one being legal, the other illegal - which by the way doesn't matter at all for the numerous victims ... 

Panic attack ? Brakes failed on the drill maybe.

This is not about what substance takes most lives, more about what substance (Yaba) makes a man murder his wife.

A check at the police station showed he was high on Ya Ba.

 

And this is one of the drugs the junta wants to decriminalise! What are THEY on?

We have done this since two of our closest neighbors homes were broken into. I sleep much better at night knowing that if it happens We can retain the perps body as evidence for the cops.

this is absolutely appalling... in the extreme... IRA nightmare stuff.

i just hope the woman was ya ba'ed to the gills, and missed most of it.

Terrible tragedy.  I hope the YABA aspect doesn't form any sort of mitigation.

Don't know how it is in Thailand, but our neighbors in China all figured out that the condos with dogs almost never get broken into.  We had dogs long before that revelation, and they go off on anyone at the doors and windows.  They're small dogs, but they are loud.  Now almost all the neighbors have dogs.

 

I own several firearms back in Texas.  I wouldn't own one here given the uncertainty of the consequences if I were forced to use it.  I'm not saying it's a bad idea.  Just saying I don't know if it is.  Especially since its existence would have to be registered with the very people I'd be most worried about breaking in to steal it- or tipping off their friends who would break in...

This is TV, most threads go off topic! how would it stay on topic, by discussing the type of drill used and the size of the bit? or lots of "O dears" the poor girl stayed with a crackhead & unfortunately reaped the consequences!
