City players who featured in the 2018 World Cup have been absent through injury for almost five times as long as Liverpool players this season.

A study from JLT Specialty has shown that City players who played in this summer's World Cup have suffered 27 separate injuries this season.

The World Cup final was held less than a month before the Premier League season resumed, giving players little time to recover before pre-season training began.

City sent a record 16 players to the tournament in Russia, more than any club in the tournament's history.

A combined 617 days has been lost in training and matches by World Cup players

The research shows Liverpool have suffered just 12 injuries to World Cup players, losing just 128 days of training and matches.

When total squads are compared, Liverpool have suffered 35 injuries and have lost 709 days. City have lost 870 days from the wider squad.

Article says:

"...players like Benjamin Mendy, Kevin De Bruyne, Vincent Kompany, Raheem Sterling, John Stones, Kyle Walker and Fabian Delph all playing the maximum seven games in Russia, injuries have taken their toll". Don't know if that is correct though.

Never thought I would say this but I hope city beat chelsea and United beat fulham

Ever wondered about that church at Goodison?

Did the Everton fans want to win or lose vs City?

All answered in the first 5 minutes of this City vlog (from 5 minutes onwards its all City fans - youve been warned).

Manchester City vs Liverpool high court: Which of the two Premier League heavyweights is best equipped to stand the heat of a tense title race?

Good link that CB AND it proves the media don't rate us as challengers!

Do you remember the bad old days when United fans had a multitude of things to take the Mickey out of us for. Now, they only have our managers dress sense to have a go at. How the tables have turned eh!!

City need to beat Chelsea and we will do you a favour and beat Liverpool

just a tad ????

Second-guessing Pep is always difficult. Bet nobody saw Zinchenko making a return - Zinchenko and Delph haven't worked out well for us this season. The other decision was 2 from David Silva, kdb and Gundogan but Silva hasn't been at it recently so i can see why he's benched.

This is going to be so tough. Fearing the worst today.

Spanish Dave comes on up 5-0 at 75 minutes. Hilarious.????

Didn't see that coming. Best we've played for quite a while.

Pep said earlier in the week that this season could come down to goal difference. That score certainly helped the cause

I didn't either. Getting 9 points from Arsenal, Everton and Chelsea in a week and playing the way we have is more than anyone could have asked for

Breathtaking stuff at times.

Gonna go to the wire with two excellent sides and a pretty equal run in.

Wait for it, he'll be getting sacked after that Chelsea's worst defeat for a long time maybe 20 years

Tough 3 games i didn't  think we'd get 9 from. Did it well.
