You know United are back on track when the ABUs start crying about penalties.

Richard Keys brought it up on BEin Sport. Although you don't get a trophy for it, I thought I would just mention this illustrious achievement. Why so touchy? Are you ashamed of it or something?

Up next Southampton tonight who United have a terrible record with. Nothing less than a win will be sufficient, so tight at the top. Be nice to have 75,000 in the crowd. OGS is hinting at the same team for the 5th game in a row which probably means there will be some tweaking. Hopefully we will get at least 2 penalties.

Only 2 penalties?... I think we should aim for 3 or 4....

If Southampton struggle and resort to dodgy tackles inside their box to prevent MU from scoring then penalties should be rewarded - how many has little to do with anything

I think we should have had at least 3 in the Villa game

that was a potential career ending dangerous late tackle on Greenwood - how it was let go is beyond me

Been in the jungle for a few days so missed the match.Apparently Shaw, ankle ,Williams, head injury and Greenwood who copped the foul you mentioned are doubtful to play Palace. The golden, injury free run, is over.

Interesting whether they will go full strength again or rest a few for Wembley

Players wouldn't be human if they were not feeling the wear and tear. Then with virtually no break going into the next season, going to be a big issue.

Rashford and Martial were outstanding last night. The attitude change of Martial is a total turn around from the brooding player they had before, different player. Foso Mensah was out of left field, did ok with so few reserve and friendlies games under his belt.

Said a few weeks back top 4 could well go to goal difference

Predicted Manchester United XI vs Chelsea: Romero; Wan-Bissaka, Bailly, Maguire, Williams; Fernandes, Matic, Pogba; Greenwood, Martial, Rashford.

Predicted substitutes: De Gea, Lindelof, Fosu-Mensah, Fred, McTominay, Mata, Lingard, James, Ighalo.

Wouldn't have a problem with that selection. Can see Fred coming in early on if there is lack of energy.

We need to realistic that this is by far the least important competition right now. I'd also play Fred + McTominay and Ighalo + James. Give most of the first choice lads a rest but retain a spine of say Maguire, Pogba / Bruno, and Rashford IMO

Wouldn't let James near the game after OGS's press chats this week.????

Sorry I've lost you.. has he picked up a knock or something? Or is this a diving related slur?

2nd guess is correct! Check out Kadilo's quote on the WHU thread.

I thought the Bruno pen the other day was certainly (cleverly) manufactured, but James doesn't dive more than any other player. Why is it so hard to grasp that when you have a small player running at a very high speed you don't need a lot of contact to bring them down.

But I suppose that renowned sports scientist, Wilai off the Thaivisa football forum, knows different.

I hope we play James and Lingard just for the purpose of winning as many pens as possible.

This narrative is absolutely ridiculous by the way... United are on the up so the long term haters need to find some way of throwing mud at us.

Meanwhile on Merseyside it's been one long continuous circle Delete ever since Klopp took the job, from fans and the media, unlike when we were Champions.

3 at the back... well hopefully that took a few by surprise including Chelsea.

At least a few are getting a rest. I do feel for Ighalo though.

Remarkable how DDG has gone from arguably the best keeper in the EPL a few years ago, to a keeper so inconsistent that he can barely be trusted.

Just heard the OGS interview after the game. He made the point that they have been on a 19 game unbeaten run which you can’t argue with but if he has the potential to lose you big games like this one then it must be a worry.

The pundits on BBC were even blaming him for Maguires  goal.
