Well; Mo came through for us again. Although he looked more nervous than usual waiting for the kick, he took the penalty with aplomb to get a deserved win. After incessant pressure throughout, it was the least we deserved. Villa threw their bodies in the way of everything but didn't manage a shot on target themselves. That, together with  their bloody timewasting, (ignored by the ref for the most part) made it a frustrating watch for long periods! but we came through in the end.

Thought Matip and Robbo were excellent with TAA not far behind them. Hope Jurgen got the 4th official's phone number as he was chatting him up for most of the game????

Didn't catch the game. What reception did Stevie G get?

There is talk now that there might be a re-draw.

Surely if anyone demands a re-draw they'll be seen to be running scared cowards. Surely United won't complain. They're the biggest club in the world ????

Seems it is Atletico Madrid. Trying to avoid big and bad Bayern.

Apparently it was Atletico complaining as the cock up meant they couldn't get Man U.

Reports in France that AfCoN may be cancelled. Meeting to decide is today apparently. Hope the rumour is true.????

Seems to be connected to security concerns rather than Covid.

CAF denying the reports are true at the moment.

ECA also want cancellation due to Covid as well as Separatist disruption fears.

Unfortunately, it appears to be just a rumour????

Another 3 goals and 3 more points in the bag. Any worries about VVD and Fab missing out thru' Covid were swiftly dispelled by Konate and Hendo's performances ensuring the lads weren't missed that much. Salah was his usual self, tormenting firstly Lewis and then Fraser but MoM  for me was TAA who was impressive at both ends. Making a goal saving tackle in his own box then scoring an absolute thunderbolt towards the end.

Curtis Jones also tested positive for Covid....but given his eye injury, he probably didn't see it coming.????????

Entertaining game only marred by Messrs Tierney and Kavanagh (VAR) demonstrating once more that they are not fit for purpose! How Kane was allowed to stay on the  pitch was an absolute joke. Studs up, reckless, high and dangerous. We have the best league in Europe, with world class managers, players, atmosphere etc but unfortunately the worst officials.

Anyway: Onto the game.....With Covid and illness ruling out our defensive midfielders, it was left to young Morton to step up. As a result, the two CBs received less protection than they normally get from Fab/Hendo/Thiago, and Spurs counter attacked very well. We played some good stuff at times though with TAA and Robbo causing problems down the flanks. Unfortunately, we couldn't get Mo on the ball often enough and he was much quieter than he has been of late. Down to 10 men due to a bit of rashness from Robbo so I suppose a point was fair as Spurs looked the fresher side towards the end (having had a couple of weeks off probably helped.)

A good night for City given us and Chelsea both dropped points. They will also be least affected by AfCoN so have to be title favourites now.

I've seen Tierney in action before. In a league full of bad refs he's maybe the worst. His best quality is that he is lazy. He can't be bothered to really pay attention.

Several years ago we were often affected by that bladdy comp. I honestly think our transfer policy has changed and we don't buy from that region too much nowadays

He certainly has it in for LFC. In 20 domestic games we have received 27 yellows and 1 red. Tierney alone is responsible for 11 yellows and the red.........in only 3 fixtures!!????

This guy has been the worst touchline diva in the PL for a while IMO. How many times has he actually been sent off? Who is going to put a stop to it?

I would be more concerned with the England captain getting away with murder because he’s sen as mister goody two shoes, and not the first time either.
